An unknown portal transfers Taylor’s troops and equipment into the wastelands of Siberia but its remote location gives his troops time to arrive on Earth and set up their equipment. They need every second of preparation, after all it is 70,000 men against all of Earth’s population…..
This is the third book of this series and in my opinion the best. If you love military Sci-Fi then you will like this book. It is full of action and the storyline is twisted and the plot turns to constantly bring up new scenarios that you have not thought of. I am a fan of the books by Jay Allan and I have purchased and read over a dozen of them. This is one of the great books he has written. I enjoyed it a lot and I look forward to the continuation. This is the third book of the series.
The book does contain a few typos but for the most part it is OK. I rated it at 5 stars. Keep the good books coming Jay!
Again, Allan combines his deep understanding of warfare, his compassion for warriors and his understanding of the drug of politics into a convincing mixture.
This is excellent, sparse and tasty prose, painting pictures of suspense and pathos.
This is the kind of book that was hard to put down. New and unexpected allies are gained but we also lose old friends in the battle to regain control of the Earth. I hope the next book in the series is coming soon!
I absolutely loved #1.
#2 was good and made sense even if you didn't like some parts, because they were unavoidable.
#3 was unavoidable, and while hoping for a glorious end I somehow still ended up feeling defeated.
4 stars for what it is - would have given 5 to be 33% shorter (1 or 2 reminders about the commander's feelings about the conflict would have been enough), but as it is I will definitely not read it again (still definitely worth reading it once!).
