SYNOPSIS
I'm a popsicle fiend -- I will go through an entire box of sugar-free popsicles in a single evening. (Give me a break, they're 15 calories each and I live in the South. It's hot!) That adds up, especially with grocery prices climbing rapidly. So I found a recipe for popsicles that are low-calorie and not pure ice (hint: use Sugar-Free Jell-O with concentrated Crystal Light), then decided to buy this popsicle tray. I'm very happy with my purchase. It will save me significant money with minimal effort. The kit comes with several excellent features, but it has a few poor design decisions that you should be mindful of.
1) The spigot funnel is not very large, so you would be best served to either by an alternative or find a bottle to fit the funnel onto.
2) The plastic, which is high-quality and designed for easy removal of frozen pops, is very very flimsy when you put it in the freezer. You might be better off placing it on a cookie sheet or cutting board, then placing the entire set-up in the freezer.
3) The popsicles may stick a bit to the sides of the mold -- especially if you use sugary mixes or fresh fruit. I do not know for sure, though.

If you can pour, you can use this. But you also need to pour carefully, and you need to make sure that you place the popsicle mold on a level surface that you can comfortably move into the freezer. The design is too flimsy to move on its own without risking a spill.

I think it would be excellent if the kit came with a plastic set of "handles" that you could place the mold within. Unfortunately, it does not.

This mold is almost certainly phthalate-free -- in fact, the mold feels more rubbery than it a plastic. It's excellent, retains its shape, and will clearly hold up to frequent uses.

The biggest risk you will face when using this is spilling on yourself. I also imagine that pouring boiling or scalding liquid into the mold could cause it to melt, so you probably shouldn't do that.

If this came with an easier way to "tote" it into the freezer, or with a better tool for filling each mold, then I would give it a full endorsement. As it stands, it's a great kit for the price point and the lack of a carrier tray or functional funnel are both problems you can solve for less than $10. I recommend buying this, if you know what its limitations are.

This holder makes it so much easier to remove the popsicles than hard plastic ones. I love that there are reusable sticks for home use but also the option to use disposable sticks when I make a frozen treat to bring somewhere else. We made fruit and coconut water popsicles for my son’s birthday at school and they turned out great!
