Daft Punk always produces the best pressings possible. This one is no different. I can honestly say I didn’t hear a single pop or crackle through the entire album. Simply amazing. People complaining this skips just don’t have the right gear, because it’s up there with my best pressings. Definitely my quietist. Don’t buy a Crosley and expect it to be able to read complex bass passages. That is all. A++++ pressing

Homework is my favorite album from DP so I decided to get it first. I plan to get all of them plus the tour versions. If you enjoy a raw feeling Homework and Human After All are for you. It DOES have repetition bc ya know dance music, but that doesn't bother me as I am always preoccupied so the long tracks don't bother me. Good brain juice,inspo music for me imo. It isn't possible for me to get their solo projects like Crydamoure (Le Knight Club and Roule) but I can get their project they made together.

I own two copies of this on vinyl, one to play, and one because I love this record so much I have an unhealthy obsession with having a sealed, mint copy in my possession.

This record has become so important to me over the years that trying to review it now is futile.

If you've never listened to Daft Punk, this is the place to start, because it is the beginning of an evolving set of records, for better or for worse. Additionally, I'm instantly jealous of people who get to listen to this album for the first time.

I would love to hear the opinion of someone who started with Daft Punk on 'Random Access Memories' and listens to this afterwards, because this record and that one are night and day different...in that one is a masterpiece and the other is an expensive, over-hyped, head-scratching piece of art.

This will always be the embodiment of Daft Punk to me, and I dream of the day that make Homework, Pt.2

Skipping vinyl was a turntable setup issue

When I first bought this it on vinyl, it skipped on Around the World and a couple of other places. I tried another copy, and had the same issue. I then checked the tracking force on my cartridge, and it was a little light. I increased it a little, and the skipping stopped. I had the same issue with a couple of other albums. If your copy skips, I would make sure to check your turntable setup.

Daft Punk's Magnum Opus

Repetition in house music has never sounded better than in Daft Punk's Homework. Its not repetitive for the sake of stretching out a track's length, but rather to build anticipation for and introduce the next element of the song. When it gets going, everything compliments each other beautifully, which is saying a lot when you take into consideration that most of this music was built from the ground up on tweaked samples. Aside from Daft Punk's best known works from this album like "Around the World" and "Da Funk", nearly every one of the other tracks stand up well on their own. My personal favorites have to be "Teachers" and "High Fidelity", for the brilliant use of their samples. Daft Punk has never been better than they were on this album. Initially, its relentless throbbing sound may turn some new listeners off (don't let the first tracks you hear by Daft Punk be "Rollin' & Scratchin'" or "Rock n' Roll"!), but with some repeated listens you begin to better appreciate it. Once you do, Homework nearly becomes its own genre of music. Deserves no less than 5 stars!

I grew up listening to Da Funk on Repeat and recently I picked up this album by mistake. I was starting out a vinyl collection and thought I selected vinyl but Instead i got an audio cd. (I should have known it was only 1$ plus shipping) After it arrived, was slightly disappointed I didn't get vinyl (got a used CD instead) I popped it in my car stereo and gave it a listen. After that I realized how much better CDs sound than plugging in my ipod with a 3.5m jack. I enjoyed my old favorites Da Funk and Around the World but I also discovered a couple of Nice tracks to listen to - "Alive" and "909 Revolution" I now have downloaded a Vinyl rip of Daft Punks entire discography so I won't have much use for the CD anymore...will probably give it to a friend who collects cd albums.

After I purchased this item I started reading more of the reviews on it. I bought the vinyl fyi. A lot of people were complaining about the record skipping in the same spots, due to fault of Virgin and their pressings. This got me a little paranoid, I didn't want to have just spent my money on a faulty album. I received the album and put it on- it's one of the better sounding records I own now. I have no idea what problem others were having with it, but imo the faults all on their part. I mentioned this on a message board I talk vinyl on and others owners of this pressing said the same thing- probably just due to not properly setting up their arm or using a bad cartridge/stylus combo.

I couldn't be happier with this record, the sound is amazing compared to the digital copy I'm used to. I would recommend this to anyone who's into Daft Punk.

Not impressed with the condition of product

I ordered the vinyl new, and as you can see in the picture attached, the cover the vinyl's are in are damaged. If you look at the sleeve from the A side (and C side as this was a problem with both sleeves), the hole is on the right side of the sleeve(s). I'm not impressed with the condition this product came in as it was a birthday present for a friend of mine and it arrived like it had been bashed around carelessly. It's damage you expect to see on a well used, owned vinyl, not one that is brand new. I'd also like to point out, that the picture above shows the actual vinyl sticking out of the hole. I haven't played the vinyl yet, so let's see if that's damaged too.
The top of the outer sleeve is also damaged, the print also appears to be rubbed off? Again, like something you'd see on a well used owned vinyl.
I'm not impressed with the condition this product has arrived in, as I've bought many vinyl's from amazon and all have come looking pristine and worked perfectly, as expected of a new vinyl.

Not too bad album. Only thing I wish after listen is more silky tracks like Revolution 909 and less distorted acid tracks like Rock'n Roll. Over all good. Funny track Around The World makes the ride more enjoyable. I've heard drums and bass-line of Burnin' in Junior Jack's album somewhere. Definitely more tracks like Revolution 909 recommended. Homework is a great album, i will admit that couple of tracks are slow to start and might annoy a few people, however once the songs get into their main rhythm and the 'meat' of the songs, they are very enjoyable and being a fan of daft punk, i can barely fault the album, however, what i will say (and i'll possibly be disliked for this) out of Homework and Discovery, Homework might not be to everyone's tastes and so i'd say this is more of a 'personal CD' and Discovery a 'Party CD' however i'll be reviewing that in a second as well, but overall, i LOVE Homework (the album, not actual homework, that kinda sucks) and would say, before buying it, try to find a track of it online and listen to it before making a purchase
