The packaging looks decent. At first impression, I feel like I got something economical yet quality. It reminds me of the days when RadioShack was around. Some of the stuff there was great, back in the day.
I was really surprised when I opened the box, to find a whole extra roll of adhesive tape. When I’ve bought these kinds of strips in the past, they didn’t include this. It also came with spare connectors, and some clips to tie down the ends of the strips. Adhesive included on those clips.
Nicely rolled in spools, 4 strips come with beginning and end connectors. This is so they can be connected directly to the control unit, or connected in series. 65.6’ divided by four ends up to be 16.4’. Not sure how the math works out uneven… maybe it’s a metric thing… maybe it’s that there’s a few inches unaccounted for with the connectors.
The strips have indicators where they can be cut, and soldered onto new connectors if desired, with the 12V, G, R, B contacts indicated. The kit doesn’t include any spare connectors for splicing this way, and it seems like soldering and using heatshrink tubing (or electrical tape if you’re a heathen) would also be needed if you went that route.
Included is a basic 110V(AC) to 12V (DC) power adapter. Then there’s the control unit and remote...
The control unit is interesting because it has four leads to power all four of the rolls of LED strip. I suppose that’s good for some use cases, but I’d probably buy a couple control units because I’ll use the strips in different areas.
On the control unit are buttons for on/off power, changing modes, and turning sound activation on!
The remote looks complex, but it’s pretty much just a color palate on top, with brightness levels on the right. On the middle/bottom are sleep timer settings and presets for different ‘exciting’ effects. The remote is Infrared (IR), so it needs to be in line of sight of the IR receiver which is that 5th wire coming from the control unit.
Attached should be a photo of the most basic ways to connect to the control unit, and a variation of the different red, green and blue combinations possible. One of the great things about RGB is they can mix to be any color… all at once and they’re white.
I installed one of the strips into the tea/coffee nook in our kitchen. The kitchen tile and cabinets are tan/brown so either white or an orange/yellow works good. Though I’m also letting it run all night on a dim red for a night light.
All-in-all.. good kit for the price!

I’ve had a few different light strips. Usually I get the rope lights. But these are great because they are super thin and tape to wherever they are needed, without the need to nail or screw in mounts.Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2020

I have many of these type of light strips all from different manufacturers as well as sellers. I bought these because I had TOO MANY different ones all with different remotes and separate power supplies, which turned a cool idea into a tangled web of wires that was taking a ridiculous amount of time to control since I was having to use 3 different apps or remotes to set whatever mood I needed throughout the day. After figuring out thru trial and error how I finally wanted the lights set up in my room, I knew 65 feet would be enough to cover my canopy bed. These lights have some features i really liked and some that I did not. THE PROS: where the lights connect to the power supply and/or to each other depending on how you need to string them, they have an extra feature to ensure they stay connected. This is a big deal since all the previous lights I have do not have this feature and it resulted in me having to use electrical tape which is ugly. It also needed to be retaped every so often, being that they are on my bed so get wiggled around a lot since my bed is used more like a sofa. Another plus, The tape on the back of the lights is excellent and went up and has stayed up wonderfully. Also, the few times i needed to reposition them, they came off easily and went back up just as well the first time. THE CONS: these are not very bright and the individual lights are spaced noticeably far apart which you can see in my pic of them, which was very disappointing. Also, these do not have the rubber the most of the strands now have over them that protect them and make them water resistant, which in all fairness was a failure on my part not the sellers. As far as the seller goes, the lights arrived i think the same day and were packaged very well and I had no fear they would be damaged. I shop a great deal on amazon and other online stores and have found that how a seller packages my products tells me a great deal. The better the packaging, the less likely anything is missing or broken, and the longer the item lasts. I now look for good reviews on sellers when deciding to buy since truly just as inportant as the review on the productbitself. This was a good seller and despite not being as bright as I would like them, they have lasted and held up better than the rest And now it takes me only seconds to change the lights!
