Here are some details on the replacement for a 2003 Honda Pilot:
I had water condensation on the lens inside the composite lens cover plus the lenses were badly dulled. I inspected both lens assemblies and could not find a hole or crack but each had about a cup of blue water. Must have been from the car wash so there's probably a leak in the gaskets or hairline cracks that I missed. The rubber bulb seal looked to be good on both units. Since the vehicle is 2003 with 120K miles I replaced both headlight lenses. Dealer part lists for $256! Autolightbulbs.com had exact replacements $94 for both - including bulbs! Had to remove bumper but it was way easy. The only tools needed are a flat head screw driver to pop the push pins apart and an 8 and 10 mm socket for the few bolts. Just save all the push pins. If you break any they also are available online at $10 for a box of 15 or from the dealer are $2.30 each. Make sure they say "for 9mm hole" in the description. It took about 1 1/2 hr to remove bumper, and install the new ones. Remove the latch cover above the radiator by removing all the push pins. Then a bunch more pins on top and bottom of the bumper. Then the 3 bolts on bottom at each end of the bumper. Then jerk it straight forward to release the friction clips under the headlights. The bumper assembly is light but make sure there's someone holding each end so it doesn't drop and get scratched.Read more ›
I went from swamp-like headlights (no thanks to Honda) to crystal clear beauties. It's only been 2 months, so I'll report back if a similar problem (swampyness <-- as my son says) arises.
Price - Excellent
Installation - Easy
Looks - Great
Fit - Excellent
Comes with lights
Adjustment - Easy and simple
Not as homogeneous (Don't think it matters)
It was impossible to get the spring clip to attach to retain the left headlamp bulb. The right one had gone fine. It would attach fine with no bulb in place, so I initially assumed I was messing up. Struggling with it for several minutes, to the point of bloody fingers, I got light on it from a headlamp and could see that with the bulb in place the engaging part of the spring would scrape the side of the housing and not let it go under the hook.
I cut about 2mm off the end of the wire and things worked like a charm. You shouldn't have to "repair" a new product like this to make it work properly.
I am now dropping my rating from 3 stars to two. Just as some had suggested the problem with no instrument lights, rapid turn signals and no marker lights was from one, or maybe two of the bulb sockets that came with it. I was popping the fuse labeled "small light" in the passenger side fuse panel. Switching all the sockets back to the original Stanley branded sockets solved the problem.
This job took three times what it should have. A photo of the offenders - filthy from being handled so much included. The finished result looks great.

Just as described and easy to change. One screw on the reflector was stripped, so I repaired it using a little larger screw. Very simple fix. Read morePublished 9 days ago by Robert
