I just got these, and they seem to be of decent quality so far. However, as soon as I took them out of the box, I was immediately disappointed that the hangers do not have a cherry finish as described, or even as shown on the box. These are espresso (a brown so dark, it could be mistaken for black in passing).
Because they seem to be fine hangers, to me, it’s not worth returning them. I am sad that they do not even remotely match my other hangers though. I would personally not by again.

I have uploaded some detailed pictures. I don't know why in this day and time, when everything has a camera on it, that the seller, or even Amazon, would not take 10 minutes to create accurate pictures.
The hangers are flat, not sure what kind of wood, probably a cheap maple. It does have a very light coat of varnish. However, the grooves were obviously cut after the varnishing process and thus the grooves are very rough. I would be concerned with using these for sweaters or anything that would snag easily.
The rod is wood, not plastic at all. However, there is a plastic sleeve over the rod. The plastic has groves, thus pants wont slide off. But the plastic sleeve is rather cheap. Check out on of the photos I added you can see the plastic crinkled.
The rod is added to the hanger with a simple nail, and no wood glue. They should have glued and nailed it. I can see the rod coming loose or even coming apart after a small amount of use. The higher end hangers have a hole cut for the rod, to prevent coming off.
In conclusion. If you want cheap hangers, order these. There is nothing wrong with going cheap, especially if you are like me and you need 150-200 hangers. And if the seller had accurate pictures I think it would allow you to make an informed decision on if you want these hangers are not. Hopefully this review will help others make an informed decision.

THE PICTURES ARE VERY MISLEADING! I Rebuilt my closet and I needed to replace my wire hangers with some wooden hangers. These hangers are not bad, but they are cheap. I did not want to pay more than $.85 per hanger, and these are pretty much the cheapest on the market. I recently purchased an old original home from the 60s and completely renovated it. I changed the floorplan in a few areas, one of which was to allow for a master walk in closet. I’ve never had all wood hangers or even an organized closet at all so I knew I had to have all wooden hangers to make it feel just a little more special. It makes a huge difference in the look and feel of the closet... who knew that HANGERS could make such a difference!?? When my boyfriend hangs a plastic hanger in there (gasp!) I immediately swap it out... They are no longer allowed. It feels like a high end store when I walk in there!! I added some pics so you can see... note: I had ordered a set of home gardens wood hangers prior to these that have the wooden bar... they are mixed in with these and in these pics too... these are the shinier, darker ones and have a black plastic bar that holds your pants better than the wood bar and looks great. Some of the hangers from this set were a little splintery underneath but nothing too bad, and nothing was on top of the hanger where it would snag clothing. This is a great set, especially for the low price with so many. I saw some reviews not liking the plastic bar... I have both types and prefer the plastic bar.
