Really enjoyed the book and the description about the peoples of that locale. Like life, the story ended before we were ready, but I liked the characters and enjoyed the break from the modern world. The descriptions of people seemed true to human nature. Also followed this with another book by the author. I will continue to look for his stories.

An awesome story about the forest people. Your heart goes out to this plain and simple people of the forest and they way town people treat them and view them. Jeff Tikari writes a good story and I rushed to get another of his books.

It wasnt a completely horrible book. It was hard to get through it seemed to me. Had some intersting parts but too far between most. The ending...seriously lacking. It just ended! In short I would recommend to anyone I know.

I wanted to know more about Ramu. Was he supposed to be Jesus? There was a lot of forgiveness in this story. I don't know how the girl could forgive Ramu's son for his indiscretions. The ending was weak. I suppose it was meant to show how friendship transcends bad things that people do to you - turn the other cheek.

This book drew me in with the descriptions of the characters and the writing. It only gets 2 stars because it just ends. There isn't a lot of resolution and there are things that the reader is left wondering.

I believe that the author did a very poor job of attempting to weave too many plots/characters into one story. I could never really put together the relationships. Also, the descriptions of the male prostitute's experiences seemed more like someone's descriptions of his own fantasies rather than a description of the emotions/psych behind the encounters.

More like a child's book. Very short. Was expecting something to happen when it just ended. It wasn't what I expected.

Interesting story with believable references to extra sensory perception and great interaction between characters. The thing I didn't like was the occasional spelling mistake. This story is an informative view of life in a village in India, the characters are well built and stand like real people as the story progresses.
