"The Honeymoon Prize was a fast paced, intriguing novella...I'd recommend The Honeymoon Prize to any romance reader." - 4 Stars - Harlequin Junkie

From the Author

If you want more of Nick and Addie, as well as their friend Emily, check out THE CINDERELLA PRINCESS!

The Honeymoon Prize is a stand-alone story, one of four in a themed series called The Honeymoon novellas. I had so much fun writing about Addie and Nick and their honeymoon on Starfish Island. I love marriage of convenience stories and this one made for a honeymoon of inconvenience between two friends since kindergarten. I must admit, I was ready for a tropical vacation myself by the time I wrote THE END!

The Honeymoon Prize definitely belongs on the warm and fuzzy side of romance and that’s not a bad thing at all.

Childhood friends Nick Calhoun and Adalaide Sinclair need help. Nick is in danger of losing his job unless he finds himself a wife in order to keep his client’s wives from hitting on him and Addie needs a home now that she’s been forcibly evicted from her home after her grandmother’s death. When Nick proposes a marriage of convenience with no sex, Addie doesn’t have much of a choice but to agree, after all, marriage to her friend is better than being homeless right?

It doesn’t end there though. When Nick and Addie find themselves the winners of a ten day honeymoon vacation, they decide that once they arrive at their destination that they’ll go their separate ways. Unfortunately for them, there’s a catch. Their honeymoon trip comes complete with a camera crew ready to film the supposedly “in love” couple. Now Nick and Addie have to pretend to be giddy in love, which adds one huge complication they didn’t anticipate: Where does the fantasy end and reality begin?

Friends to lovers is one of my favorite troupes in the romance genre. Some people might think it’s overdone but I disagree. When it’s done right there’s no reason to complain. The Honeymoon Prize was one of those romances. Sweet and sultry, it delivers a solid romance with likable characters.

I enjoyed the history between Nick and Addie. Childhood friends who have seen the highs and lows in each other’s lives and in some ways, took each other for granted.

After the death of her grandmother and the betrayal of her greedy family leaves her homeless, Addie Sinclair is grateful to her childhood best friend for his offer of protection, even if it is in the form on an "in name only" marriage. Considering she realized long ago that falling in love with Nick was a bad idea, their agreement seems perfect. She gets a place to live, financial security, a chance to go to college, and a free vacation, courtesy of their friend Emily. Too bad Emily forgot to mention a few details.

Nick Cahill doesn't believe that love and sex belong in the same thought, much less the same relationship. His parents' marriage was disaster and his own fiancee was a lying cheater. In fact, the only relationship he has ever been able to count on all of his life has been his friendship with Addie. So when his boss implies that he either needs a wife or a new job, Nick finds the perfect solution to both his and Addie's problems. A marriage based on friendship without sex. However, as they arrive on Starfish Island for their "prize" honeymoon, Nick and Addie both realize that keeping their marriage platonic is going to be a lot harder than they had originally thought.

This story tested my boiling point. Probably because Estate Law in and of itself boils my blood. Ms. McClone did a wonderful job creating one of the most heartbreaking, and all too real, situations faced by non-inheriting caretakers. My heart was ripped out for Addie, and I wanted to reach through the pages and slap her family.

Now to the warm and fuzzies. The scenery in this book was beautiful! The descriptions made me want to hop on the internet and book a vacation to Fiji, forgetting that I don't exactly have three grand to blow at the moment.

A fun romantic escape.

A marriage of convenience for Adelaide Sinclair and her long time friend Nick Cahill is turned upside down when Addie's friend, Emily, enters them in a honeymoon reality show contest and doesn't tell them. All they know is they have somehow won an exotic trip to a private island in the South Pacific. At landing, they are confronted by a film crew only to find out what's really going on. Faking a marriage is hard enough, but faking a happy honeymooning couple will be even harder. How will they get out of this? Can they just play by the rules and fake it? Will this be what finally forces them to see the love that has been in front of them all along?

This was such a fun book. I just wish it were longer. I wasn't ready to part with these characters yet.

Addie and Nick have been friends since kindergarten, in and out of each other's lives, always in some contact. It just makes sense to them that when Addie is in distress, Nick will be there and when Nick needs a fake wife, Addie would be the one. Addie and Nick tie the knot, Addie gets a home, Nick gets a wife, and best friend, Emily, wins them an all expense paid ten day honeymoon at a luxurious tropical island resort, wardrobe included. Sounds fishy but what the hey! They embark on their honeymoon only to discover the catch: they are a part of a reality show filming their honeymoon and now they have to act like lovebirds! Theirs is a marriage of convenience to solve their problems. Ah, simmering under their friendship guise is the love they felt for each other back in high school but never confessed. Will Addie and Nick relax their guard and allow the lull of the island breezes and the pampering of the resort lead them to each other? You'll be rooting for them to discover the Addie and Nick that is meant to be.
