Shipping: the product arrived fast and in great condition
I have purchased other kinds of flour for the gluten free lifestyle and I like this one the best. I chose this from Amazon because of all the great reviews.
I’ve made a lot of different types of desserts with the Almond flour and people who don’t even like gluten free product comment on how good it is.
• Seems to be cheaper or at same price point as competitors
• Liked it better than Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods or Bob’s Red Mill for consistency and taste
• Stores well in the freezer
• Tastes great in all kinds of food requiring flour/ best substitute
• Bag does not seal that great after opening need to put it in another container
• Can go stale easily if not protected
I 100% recommend Blanched Almond Meal Flour from Honeyville Farms for all your substitute flour needs. I do not have celiac disease but do have a certain gluten intolerance when I eat too much of it. This product makes switching to a Gluten Free lifestyle a lot easier and tastier.
Two last points if you do have celiac disease I have read prior one of the reviewers called the company to check on cross contamination and found out this product is definitely gluten free with no cross contamination but please call the company at (888)-810-3212 to find out for sure.
2nd point If you do consume and need lots of this flour it is cheaper to purchase the 25 bag of this for Honeyville Farms at the time of writing this would bring your price down to $36.80 for each 5 pounds.
2 Cups Almond Flour
1/4 Cup honey or other sweetener
1/2 Tsp Baking Soda
1 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
Dash of Salt
1 Tsp Vanilla Extract or 1/2 tsp of almond extract
2 Tbsp Coconut Oil (or Other Healthy Oil)
1 Cup Blueberries
Pre-heat oven to 350 F.
Place all ingredients excluding blueberries into your food processor and blend until smooth.
Once completely mixed fold in blueberries.
Spray muffin tin or mini muffin tin with a healthy, non-stick cooking spray.
Evenly scoop batter into muffin tin.
Bake for 25 minutes.
This almost flour should be used sparingly however, since it is so high in calories. I think the natural kind tastes great as well.
Quality: The quality of this product is great. I believe that only ONCE have I received a bag that smelled different than usual. If you are looking for almond flour that is grind well, this is the product you want! I have used this item to make macarons.
Honeyville almond flour is definitely an item I would recommend.
I am a Paleo convert. But my mother is old school and still believes in the wheat flour. So she looked at me weird when I told to substitute it with this in a recipe she was making. Well, well - surprise, surprise! It came out better!
PS: for that recipe search "Grain Free Pecan Sticky Date Cake" by Peachy Palate - out of this world (although my palate might have changed and it seemed a bit too sweet so next time we'll use a bit less dates)
