Why Doctor's Recommend Honeywell Air Purifiers
- Honeywell True HEPA filters capture up to 99.97% of both larger airborne particles and microscopic allergens as small as 0.3 microns from the air that passes through the filter
- All Honeywell air purifiers meet strict industry guidelines and are certified by the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) for Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) Performance
Honeywell Air Purifiers Help Capture Airborne Allergens
Honeywell air purifiers are often recommended by physicians as part of an overall allergy treatment program. Our highly effective air purifiers capture 99.97% of the microscopic particles (0.3 microns and larger) that pass through their filters. Honeywell True HEPA air purifiers are efficient at capturing airborne particles like dust, pollen, tobacco smoke, cooking smoke, fireplace smoke, pet dander and mold spores. Some models have even been tested to capture certain germs from the air passing through the filters.
These products use a mechanical filtration process - meaning that a fan pulls the particle-filled air into the unit and forces that air through a HEPA filter, effectively cleaning and circulating the air in a room up to 5 times an hour. And, Honeywell True HEPA air purifiers do not release ozone back into the air from the filtration process, making them the preferred air purifier for patients with breathing disorders.
- Honeywell is the #1 Allergist recommended brand
- All units are easy to use and easy to clean
How Honeywell Air Purifiers improve indoor air quality
1. A quiet fan pulls room air into the unit, circulating and filtering the air several times an hour.
2. The air then passes through an odor absorbing pre-filter to help reduce unpleasant odors and capture large particles like dust, pet fur or lint.
3. The air passes through highly effective True HEPA filters that capture up to 99.97% of particles, 0.3 microns or larger, from the air that passes through the filters.
4. Cleaner, fresher air is released back into the room.
Captures up to 99.97% of Airborne Particles
Every Honeywell model captures 99.97% of small harmful particles, 0.3 microns or larger, from the air that pass through the filters.

Top Customer Reviews
The 1st level GERM is virtually silent, I've never owned an air filter that is this quiet - it is the perfect level to use while watching a movie. #2) is a pleasant white noise that is barely audible and offers a great amount of filtration. The 3rd and 4th levels offer superior air flow and are so much quieter than my other Honeywell filters. While I still own multiple Honeywell filters and use them daily throughout my home, I will be replacing them with this unit as my budget allows. In searching for this air filter I looked very closely at comparable units priced as high as $600.- I was searching for an air filter that offered great filtration, but was also quiet so I could use it daily in my home theater room. After looking at almost 20 different units and brands in the $200-$600 price range, checking Consumer Reports as well as the Amazon consumer feedback I was won over by this Honeywell unit because of the price, the basic method of filtration, the very cool control panel, the fact that I could place the unit against a wall, the convenient size of the unit, and finally my positive experience over the past 20 years with Honeywell products. In the end I am very pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend this unit. One final note, the ability to turn the blue light off on the control panel is a welcome upgrade over my other Honeywell units. Thank you Honeywell & Amazon!
Easy to set up
Not too loud. Sounds like a small fan is on in the room. I like white noise like that.
Circulates air efficiently.
Filters air very well.
Expensive air filters (only reason why I took 1 star off the total)
The biggest thing I was looking for in an air filter is how much space it would cover. I have a 20'x20' living room with 9' ceilings connected to a kitchen roughly the same size. This keeps the entire 1500 square feet of my upstairs clean.
I ran it downstairs where I am doing demolition and BOY does it clean the air up fast when I have it on Turbo. Left it on overnight and it worked like a charm. I can already see the layers of dust in the carbon filter.
Sound wise in correspondence with fan speed:
Low ( They call it the "Germ" setting ) - sounds like an average fan on low
Medium ( They call it "General Clean" setting) - sounds like a fan on medium
High (They call it "Allergen" setting) - starting to get a little loud. Definitely cannot watch a movie in the same room with it on
Turbo (They call it "TURBO") - What? What did you say? Oh God! It's sucking everything in!
This Honeywell unit got good ratings from a rating organization--better than the Idylis. And the replacement filters are significantly less expensive. Though, the Honeywell filters are not af sturdy and appear like they may permit some air to come in around the edges. The Idylis filters have a much snugged fit with almost a weather strip around the edge to preclude air coming in along edge.
In regards to cleaning/purifying performance appears to be excellent. Pre-filter picking up enough dust to see after just a week, mostly on low to medium speed.
In regard to noise, it's horrible. It is not the whoosh airflow white noise aspect of it that is the problem. The fan emits a hum/whine that is in the 500 Hz range (used spectrum analyzer--slightly below on low, at for medium, just above at high). I'll admit that I am noise sensitive, especially to certain frequencies. This just gets on my nerves and make me irritable. Interesting, turbo is so loud overall that it masks that frequency spike.
I'm considering either returning or giving it away.
Without the whine, I'd give it a 4-5. Because of the whine, only a three, and that may be generous.
