I didn't realize how much I missed City and Suzy until I picked this newest Gallo book up. As is usual with a Chelle Bliss book, I was drawn in from the very first paragraph. I loved reading every single page of this book.
We get to see all sorts of Gallo action that had me laughing quite a bit. The antics both in and out of the bedroom had me either fanning myself or chuckling. One of the things that I most loved about this book is how Chelle addresses post-partum depression after Suzy gives birth. This can sometimes be such a taboo subject, but it's handled so well in this book. Joe proved again why I love him as much as I do.
There's also some family drama that causes quite a bit of stress for the Gallo family that had me tearing up just a little bit. But as usual, they rally around each other and solve the problem as single unit. And let's not forget Mar and Sal; there were a few revelations about this frisky pair that had I been in the room I'm not sure I would have been able to handle it LOL!
In the end, the Gallo's are on fire, individually, as couples and as a family. This is a not to be missed book in this series!!
This is primarily City & Suzy's story. *Sigh* back to where it all started. Suzy is very pregnant with.. twins! EEK! And this pregnancy is taking a toll on Suzy and on her relationship with City. I so appreciated Chelle tackling this subject that many people are not comfortable talking about. Postpartum depression is very serious. But often I find people embarrassed about it. Unsure of their experience, feeling like they should just be able to get over it, it will get better soon, go away, family members who are not understand... But this is tackled head on in Honor Me - with class, honesty and in a very easy manner. Sounds odd right? Such a serious topic and I am saying it came across easy... Well, I feel Chelle treated it as if it just happened (which it did). It wasn't some monumental crisis (though it often feels like it). We get to see Suzy's feelings and how she is dealing, but we then see City very naturally show his concern, reach out to his big, supportive family to see where he can find help for the love of his life and they deal. It was true to THEIR characters and so felt real and honest.
But wait! As soon as they tackle their personal issues something else is waiting, lurking in the shadows to darken their lives. The past has come back... well one of City's brother's past. But when one Gallo is involved, the whole family is.
It was wonderful to visit with the Gallos again. Their family dynamic just drags you in and makes you wish you were invited over for Family dinner! And the kids! Oh my! Let me just tell you that Gigi, City and Suzy's daughter is just too much! She stole every scene she was in! The things that came out of her mouth... just you wait and see. I so hope we see more of her!
I definitely recommend this book. I laughed, I teared up, I gasped and screamed... and in the end I was just plain ol' happy.
I received a complimentary copy in exchange for my honest review.
I laughed at their antics and cried when s*** when down, I swear my heart stopped!
I love when I read about a great character that goes through the same things that we go through in RL, and seeing City help Suzy as she goes through her Postpartum Depression is amazing. He recognized that she need some help and made sure she knew it and got it.
This is one family that sticks together through the thick and the thin. When the past comes back they rally around each other and deal with it like the family the are.
Gigi and all her questions was super hilarious!!
This was just so good and seeing all the little Gallos just makes me want more!!
Then Thomas' past comes calling putting the family in danger. There ex stress, and secrets between all the relationships because of this but it comes to a short end. This chapter had me worried for a second!
The girls telling the boys they had to get fixed cracked me up.
This on is Joe & Suzy' s story. After having her twins she has the blues and sees a therapist.
Their daughter Gigi is hillarious with her stories of mommy & daddy and their sex life, heck to whole family is hillarious,.
Looking forward to more stories.
OMG. Absolutely love the Gallo family. Love Sunnys take no prisoners attitude. Love how Joe wants nothing but the best for his family. Loved Gigi and all her Lillie girl curiosity. I laughed and cryed. What an exceptional love story. What an amazing family. They would do anything for each other. A must read. Could not put this book down.
