Great as a set, not alone

Im giving this book four stars, as I did with S. Connoly's other books "Keys of Ocat" & "Necromantic Sacraments", with one caveat. These books are meant to be a set and they continuously reference one another. This wasn't an issue for me because I bought all three and found them to be ultimately very helpful. If I hadn't had the complete set though, im sure that this rating would be much lower. The sheer number of times that the other books are plugged here is fairly dense and much of the time, after reading through a paragraph of enthralling, well written information, you get to the end and "oops, the punchline is in another book". This happens much too often. That said, I reiterate that AS A SET, thess books are very useful and well written.

Another occult classic on death and necromancy, I truly enjoyed reading this great book, the author shares her stories which were very similar to experiences I have shared dealing with the dead. what I admire the most is the authors respect for the dead and her candor on what necromancy is, this book was like eating an 8 course meal completing my necromantic studies beginning with Necromantic Sacraments, Keys of Ocat, Keys of Death and finally Honoring Death. the author has laid out the blue print on the proper ways to not only open, but close a portal, dealing the many aspects of death, helping spirits cross over, banishing rituals, too many to name here and finally give the herbs associated with death and some oluems to get you started. I wish I had this info in my 20's when I opened a portal to exact revenge on a boss I absolutely hated, and brought through a demon from the Solomon keys, who while never harming me, would hold my husband up by his neck, feet dangling off the ground up against the wall when he got up to use the bathroom at nights, the entity wreaked havoc in my apartment for weeks, all the things the author discussed that could go wrong in her book, I experienced and had to get some friends more experienced than I to help close this portal I opened lesson learned, this will complete a course for the adept who comes from a spiritual system like mine, where there are no written documents on this area of the occult.

But for the neophyte I urge them to not only purchase these books but to also take the course's offered by the author on her website. necromancy while being one of the most fascinating and rewarding paths in the occult system, is an area that requires training and guidance under an adept, such as this author. in this age of Aquarius the age of knowledge made known to all, what makes the difference of success vs failure is taking the time, energy and resources to learn, study, train and ultimately master your craft. to communicate with the dead, daemons, angels and other elemental spirits like djinns is very exciting indeed. in every book I bought of this author her words resonated with me on a soul level, her experience, respect and overall approach made you felt like you were in her presence studying for the Master Herself. the subject of death was never so inviting and comforting, I feel like a total fan girl of the author S. Connolly.

I am currently studying to be a funerary priest and consult this text weekly, if not more often. Connolly's two other Death-related titled get picked up just as frequently. I read this one first, and it was an excellent introduction to Necromantic Sacraments and the Key of Ocat. That is the order I would suggest. The correspondences at the beginning of this text can be quite helpful when setting up altars to Death for the rituals within. Very nice.

This book focuses on Necromancy from the perspective of Demonolatry. I'd have to say that out of all the books I've read on necromancy, I've liked this one the best, especially because of how the author suggests working with spirits and the dead, in a manner that is respectful, much like you would work with a daemon. She also offers suggestions for particular daemons a practitioner can work with when doing necromantic work. If you are interested in learning more about demonolatry, you will also learn a bit about that topic with suggested further reading also offered. Overall all this is a solid, focus book, and the author has done an excellent job presenting the topic and providing methods for working with spirits.

This is a very well thought-out book on necromancy and daemonaltry. It gives a good starting point and suggestions on working with several different daemons as well as suggested reading for further knowledge on that subject. There is definitely respect for the dead and spirits within the pages of this book. Some may feel it is short being only 114 pages long - but those pages are jam-packed with information! There are some guided steps on mediumship, rituals, prayers, several methods for parting the veil and closing along with many different ways one can communicate with spirits in their necromantic works.

The book would be absolutely amazing if it contained all the necessary information. The author quite often talks about rituals where the “how to” part is omitted, saying “it’s in my XY or Z book, so I’m sure you’ve read about it there, I’m not repeating it here.” If at least the Kindle versions of these books were a lot cheaper (half the current price or something), this wouldn’t be a huge problem, but now I’m not sure if I want to order those books too. What if they have the same sort of half-information in them, referencing further books? I don’t fancy spending £70 or near just to get all the details of a ritual that might or might not work.

If you don’t mind this because you have her previous books, then this book is going to be very useful to you. Its language is very easy and personal, definitely a lot less pretentious than some others I’ve read. The stories are relatable and to the point, the instructions are pretty clear (or they would be, if they were actually complete), so yeah, I recommend this book for those who don’t mind either forking out a small fortune for all the author’s books or already have her previous works. Otherwise, AVOID!
