The Hoont™ Water Jet Blaster Animal Repeller – Motion Activated
The Hoont™ Water Jet Blaster animal deterrent drives away unwanted “visitors” to your garden or property with a harmless jet of water.
When the built-in sensor detects movement within a range of up to 30 feet, the jet of water is activated for approximately 5 seconds. Animals are frightened by this jet of water and immediately leave the monitored area, and learn to avoid this area in the future.
Also, the clicking noise of the distribution valve that sounds when the jet of water is activated frightens the animals and helps to drive them away. The jet of water is only reactivated when movement is once again detected. This ensures high e¬ffectiveness with very low water consumption.
The Hoont™ Water Jet Blaster Animal Repeller is the most humane method for keeping animals and pests out of your property. It doesn't kill or harm the animals; it just sprays them with an annoying squirt of water, thus forcing them to leave the area. With no messy traps, chemicals or pesticides; it’s absolutely safe for you, your kids and for your pets.
Repels birds, dogs, cats, squirrels, skunks, deer, wild animals, etc.
Connect the hose, stick the garden stake into the ground and adjust your water spray preference. The device is ready to protect your garden and property.

I created a video to show you one little confusing part about the assembly that other people had trouble figuring out before. I also show how well these work outdoors. I hope you found the info I provided helpful and if you have any questions please ask.
In reference to the sprinkler not turning on in my update below, it actually was a battery issue. I'm using free Harbor Freight AA ones I got with a coupon and I guess that brand is only good for about a month or so. New batteries in and it started working again just fine from not turning on and then only sporadically coming on. I think a bit of force is needed to open the valve against the water pressure and when the batteries get to about half their power they can't do it any longer. I know the sign for batteries going bad now is turning off the water and releasing some water pressure which then lets the valve open and appear to work as normal. Once full pressure is back on though it doesn't seem to work. Battery change time!
I've bought two of these as "used" and one works fine, the other referenced below was replaced by the seller. Appreciate that for what was sent originally was a manufacturing error.
The first one I bought works sporadically. You can hear something click inside when it opens a valve with no water on, and randomly, it will not work on one of them, and then suddenly work. Batteries are fine, I'm thinking that maybe the water pressure isn't allowing the valve to open because turning off the supply and releasing pressure lets it start working again it seems. Need to play with it more to find out what's causing it.
That aside, when these work, they work well. I have no fence around my yard and it is the oregon trail for feral cats and other wildlife to get to the empty lot directly behind my back yard. The feral cats also leave kitty poos in the sand around my house and that was the last straw and I bought these to try to scare the crap out of them to go elsewhere. I've heard it go off at night and found panic footprints in the dirt as animals have scattered when it came on.
Hope that it is reliable and works consistently, but I've seen quite a few reviews that they work well for a while, and then suddenly don't.
This is mostly a quality control issue as I have bought another one of these and it works great, but the second one I bought arrived with the metal base not drilled out so no water can move through it. I have a week before I can return but exchange isn't an option so hoping the seller responds and replaces outright. See attached picture for what arrived.
Unfortunately, the metal spike hose "T" that came with this device leaks at all three ports/connections!
That ruled out using this on my deck an occasional squirt of water is one thing, non-stop drips is another. I stopped some of the leakage by replacing the two hard plastic (black) hose gaskets (one for hose one for cap) with soft rubber (orange ones) and also adding a PVC close nipple and threaded female coupling to the top of the 3-way anchor part, to improve the seal at that rather awkward connection.
This stopped the hose fig leaks and slowed down the leak at the top of the anchor/base of the riser, but the PVC riser that comes with this device has an O-ring and short threads to thread into the top port on metal anchor and it still leaked a little. A standard 1/2" MPT (male pipe thread) fitting at the bottom of this riser would have been a much smarter choice since the top of the metal anchor has both male and female 1/2" pipe threads. I considered cutting off the top of a standard 12" threaded sprinkler riser and gluing on a PVC male hose fitting to match what they used on top of their riser, but it seems crazy to have to do all of that with a brand new item! The swivel connection from the top of the riser to the bottom of the motion sensor sealed well and nothing else has constant water pressure on it, so a slight leak at the fittings leading to the sprayer is no big deal.
Someone should explain to Hoont's design team that a cast metal part with seams that split every port is nothing to use an O-ring on! Plus, the threads on this cast part aren't fully round since someone decided putting wrench flats almost the full length of them was a smart idea; this prevents someone from being able to use teflon tape around the threads as a last resort when the hose gaskets won't seal.
Its too bad because other than all these leaks at the base of the unit, it seems to work well. Its the LEAST technical parts that are failing....
If this is the "Upgraded Version" it is a dud. I'm going to have to return this item and buy a different brand and hope the engineers at that company were smarter about how they did their connections.
