As Skye struggles with an unknown disease and the loss of her job because of her poor health, she seeks the grandparents she had never known. She is an interesting combination of strong and unsure of herself. The anxiety she experiences causes her difficulty in making decisions. And she feared to reveal her newly-found faith in Jesus to her father.
Several hard subjects are addressed in this story. Chronic, undiagnosed illness. Estranged Family. Trust. Each is handled with tact and the answers point to faith in the Lord.
In addition to Morgan and Skye's issues, her parents are a bit...hippyish. Naming all their children after shades of blue is only the tip of the iceberg!
Not everything is resolved in the story, by design. The books in the Hope Ranch series build on each other and yet close with satisfying conclusions so they could be read alone though they are best read as a series.
