This book was amazing, beautifully written, and one heck of a story!

I will admit, the cover is what grabbed me on this book, I mean.. it's GORGEOUS! But after reading the synopsis, I was like yes! I need to read it, and I am so happy I did!

The premise of this story is simple. Two strangers who were matched by experts, marry site unseen, and are expected to stay married for three months, but what happens when one of them has a secret that could destroy them, this is that story! In Hopeless Vows we meet Jillian and Austin, two of the strangers who agreed to this crazy social experiment and are to be married. They've never met each other, but once Jillian begins her walk down the aisle, she realizes who she is about to marry, and knows nothing good can come of this.

Throughout the book we get to see Austin falling hard for Jillian, and Jillian fighting the feelings she has for Austin, because she knows as soon as he finds out who she really is, he will hate her. I kept trying to figure out what she knows or who she is that could make him despise her as much as she thinks he will, and was not expecting the twist we got in this book. I had a feeling their pasts were intertwined, but nothing like how it ended up being.

I really loved watching Jillian and Austin fall in love, and get to know one another. Austin is an amazing guy and you can tell he truly loves Jillian, and the little things he does for her to make her happy made me swoon. Jillian's character was a little more difficult to read. We all know she's hiding something, and I wanted her to tell him so she and him could give this thing a real shot, but after finding out what it was, I understand her hesitance in having him know how intertwined their pasts were.

Whew, Im still a bit processing. The premise of this book was a bit fluff; American reality tv show, married and forced to live together. I thought :predictable and generic, but instead I found an extremely emotional back story, relationships develop, friendships fall apart, love form, families unite...it was quite powerful.

I've completely avoided the current trend reality show on TV, Married at First Sight, mostly because I think it's a ridiculous notion. I know absolutely nothing about how the show works, and haven't really researched it at all. I just think (even if chosen by the so called "experts") that it's kind of a twisted experiment that can't always work out - much like the Bachelor. I think some people, the ones truly ready for that serious relationship, could definitely make it work and be in it for the right reasons... But it's the drama that makes for good TV, but it also makes for really crappy relationships.

Hopeless Vows isn't a book I'd normally choose just from reading the blurb on the back - I actually would have turned my nose up at it, until I saw the cover!! Have you seen it?? It's gorgeous!! Even knowing what the plot was based on (a notion I don't believe in), I decided to jump in and read it anyway! I'm glad I did. I still don't believe in this crazy idea that you can get married and THEN figure it out... But I liked the story, and most of all I fell in love with the characters and their relate-ability.

This was my first book by this author, and I really enjoyed how she chose to tell this story! It's such a strange love story - based around a reality tv show, but I felt the love these characters had for each other and it felt honest and real... And gave me a little more hope for these kinds of reality dating shows!

First of all, you meet Jillian. She's up & coming in the fashion industry and an all around "good" girl! She loves her job, has the sweetest (but most high-maintenance best friend), and just really wants to find someone to love her...

Marry a complete stranger, you don't know anything about the person, looks, personality, etc. until your wedding day. Umm what the hell is this about, intriguing to say the least. Don't mind if I devour the book in one sitting. Hopeless Vows is a beautiful, mysterious, unique, fun, heartbreaking read all rolled into one. I'm a big fan of Rachael's I've read every single one of her books and she just get better and better. Job well done lady!!

Jillian Taylor is twenty eight, working at a fashion magazine as a columnist. She's lonely hasn't found the right person to spend her life with. She comes across a reality tv show "First Comes Marriage", looking for people to come on and have a panel of experts of the show match you up to a complete stranger, marry them and stayed married for eight weeks after that decide if you want to stay married . Sounds crazy right maybe for you but not Jillian she jumps on the opportunity. The process is grueling every experts grills you on everything about your life, from likes, dislikes, parents, your past. Jillian has secrets from her past and does whatever she can to bury them and never have them come out.

Austin sweet, caring, handsome, owns a franchise of gyms, hasn't found the right one to spend his life with either. He decides to sign up for a reality tv show in hopes of finding the one to spend his life with. Not the most conventional way to find love or a wife what's he got to loose. Austin's motto is everything happens for a reason and you should always live without regrets. I totally fell in love with Austin.

Sometimes fate can be a real bitch and throws you for a loop. That's how Jillian felt the day of her wedding walking down the aisle to her groom, she comes to complete halt and freezes.
