Don't know anything about the business world
But I could not put this book down
What an interesting read
The author writes in a very straightforward interesting way
I underlined several things that were important to my life so I could go back to them
I am an artist and in his closing thoughts he said " being an artist requires belief"
This idea is how I try to live
This book is written almost in the style and spirit of "writing this to my younger self" if I had the knowledge experience and hindsight I have now - what would I want to know at the start of my journey. For this reason it's probably one of the most valuable reads anybody on the path but with more to do - can take something - a little or a lot from.
The sincerity and clear language from the author is a breath of fresh air into understanding the ups and downs of success.
Unlike most books on business or self-improvement that give you a formula on mimicking someone's perfect ascension to the top; this book takes you through a self-made man's embracing of risks, indeering shortcomings, earned opportunities, and his willingness to take ownership of his destiny.
However, once again this self-determination is also different from anything else most of us have read. It's a humble determination that knows that sometimes life has its own plans, but that insighfulness, confidence, hard work, and optimism can make that most of a man's circumstances.
A highly inspiring and educative book for anyone interested in learning what it takes to achieve excellence and embrace the rabbit hole of life.
