These ended up working great but we found it very tricky making big enough holes in the car without splitting the wood. We needed all of the weights with our thin wedge design. An ordinary bit with a variable speed drill is still rough on the car. We used small bits first and other things not intended for drilling to carefully enlarge the holes to get the weights in. But it was easy to crazy glue the weights in the holes. We used a light weight foam-like spackling paste to cover the weights before painting. We ended up with a good center of gravity placement, fine tuning with tungsten putty. My son ended up winning with his car.

Better than any other weights!!!

These sure beat using lead fishing weights as I have done the last 2 years. The amount of wood needing removed to use use standard lead fishing weights almost equals the amount of weight added by the lead. So the car would be just a tad heavier than before adding the lead.

Not the case with these weights. I could tell as soon as I picked them up they were much more dense. I was able to get the car to be exactly 5 oz. My son one 2nd at his Pack race and is on to the District race!!!!

I made the mistake of ordering the 3 oz. right off the bat, as usual my math is always off. These are easy to use for balancing my son's pinewood derby car. I use to use lead, but now that he's older, he's doing the work so I wanted it safe.
