Hornady would do well copying Nosler's format which gives much more complete information.
Like all reloading manuals, this one also provides excellent information about the reloading process and the safety steps that should be followed - those new to reloading should read that information completely, those experienced with reloading should review it, too. Is this the only reloading manual you need? NO. Reloaders should always refer to the manual specific to the bullet manufacturer whose product they are using. If you change brand, go to that brand's manual for data. Whatever cost incurred from the purchase of additional manuals is insignificant to what the cost could be if things go wrong from a bad load. Not all bullets are constructed the same - even within the basic cup and core construction types - and can produce different pressures with equivalent loads. (Okay, I'll get off my safety soapbox.)
simple for people like me, also the information on how to use the new equipment, thing to be aware of
to make that perfect shot, plus the new ballistic calculator that I believe is called 4 dimensional calculations
I am very happy with mine, be careful out there, and keep it in the ten ring.
The Hornady Reloading Manual is the only reloading book I ever buy because I only shoot Hornady bullets due to their quality and cost. So keep in mind that because this is a Hornady book it only covers the bullets they make, but for your standard soft point/spire point and full metal jacket/jacketed hollow point bullets the information is interchangeable across all brands of bullets as long as the bullet weight is the same. I also make sure to buy the new edition anytime Hornady has come out with new bullets so I make sure that I am always up to date with all current options and information I will need if I choose to shoot these new bullets in the calibers that I reload.
Pros: everything about this book if you are a Hornady shooter like me, but also just the wealth of knowledge that is in these books about reloading and the things to look for that can be an issue, and it's hardback
Cons: the different cartridge load information only covers Hornady bullets, this isn't a problem for me but could be for other people reading this review
