It’s nice that the Hosa ACD-477 adapter has reversible polarity, which permits its use across a broader range of devices. However, this product is hampered by 3 major shortcomings:
1) The 5.5 x 2.5 mm connector tip is not included. Considering that it’s one of the most commonly used connector sizes on the market, the choice to omit it is baffling.
2) The supplied cord is too short at only 5 ft. It’s woefully inadequate if you plan to use this adapter with a keyboard, or any other electronic device that’s positioned beyond 5 ft from an electrical outlet.
3) Voltage is limited to 12V. Many other adapters offered on Amazon go to 15V.
Verdict: if Hosa addressed the above flaws, this could be one of the best adapters on the market. As it is, there are better choices out there.

It's not UL listed but at least it's got ETL unlike most power supplies sold around. That means it shouldn't be a total fire hazard. No audible noise. The barrel connectors are of good quality as are most Hosa cable connectors. The power supply housing is a bit cheaper than expected but it doesn't make me feel queasy.
