I received 5 plugs from seller and noticed the plugs are shorter than the one I have that works well. Sure enough, these plugs failed to make positive locking with the 1/4" female plugs. It easily pops out and lose contact. The plugs I got did not have any marking or reference to Hosa. Hence, I don't know if they are knock-off version. Regardless, they are cheaply made. I am surprised that this product received so many positive review. I added a picture in the product page so you can see it for yourself. I am returning the items.

Why would you buy a completely passive component that adds nothing to your audio, and simply changes the direction of the cord? Easy: Your gadget that it's plugged into is worth it.

In the standard configuration, with straight cable going in, you get a bending force on the jack if the cable is tugged in ANY direction perpendicular to the jack. Over time, that can screw with your jack, and wear it out. Add one of these right angle adapters though, and it is almost impossible to put a bending force on the jack. The cable will just rotate into a new position, pivoting about the axis. It can serve as a sort of quick-release too, since it's more likely to just let the cable release if you yank on it, instead of pulling your electronics off of a table or something.

Plus, the right angle makes it easier to handle some handheld gadgets/audio players. Just need to make sure you get right size angle adaptor for them (3.5mm vs. 2.5mm). This one is for standard 3.5mm jacks.

I honestly didn't think it would be that useful, but I use it a lot for controlling cables, and connecting to my portable media player. Most useful for the smaller gadgets that have no other option but analog audio, like portable recorders, etc.

I knew going in it might not work with a Motorola w408g, inserting it all the way in I only had sound in the right ear, pulling it out of the phone a little I would have stereo sound in the headphones, so I epoxied 2 thin washers over the male end of the adapter and it works great. see picture.

This adapter is alright. I wanted a 90 degree adapter because the headphone jack on my laptop is right next to where my mouse goes. I was constantly hitting my headphone cord with my mouse. This adapter solved that issue. However, after just two or three months, I noticed some crackling sounds. I can jiggle the adapter a little, and that solves the issue. If it gets hit again though, it'll crackle some more.

I'll probably look around for a better adapter.

This jack is a little difficult to use. The standard stereo mini-plug cannot be fully inserted and make good contacts. It must be withdrawn about 3/16 of an inch to work.

This adapter gets the job done. It doesn't cause a loss of sound quality and it's durable. I got this item to plug headphones into a 1/4'' amplifier jack a while back, and it's lasted me ever since.

I recently purchased this item to play music from my iPad/ iPod through a PA system. I teach music and need reliable equipment that produces good quality sound so that my students can "dig into" the music. This product provided just that for a great price.

A heavy duty design and not much heavier than a plastic equivalent. I weighed both a plastic RadioShack 3.5mm TRS female to female coupler and this same metal Hosa coupler using an accurate pelouze SP5 digital postal scale. The plastic model weighed in at 8 grams and the metal version weighed in at 10 grams. I don't find the additional 2 grams of weight of any real significance myself and the fit is no more slack than that of the RadioShack model.

This is a very good device and I admire it's durable construction. Hosa's heavy duty adapters and connectors are well known by audio professionals for their high quality and durability. FYI - 3.5mm TS & TRS connectors are not generally considered to be 'professional' grade devices.
