These are so cheap on amazon. I worked at a music store for a couple of years, and I couldn't even get these as cheap as this. HOSA makes the best adapters, insert cables, etc. You can always count of them.

Some of my microphones do not have on/off switches, and I hate turning everything off and then unplugging the mic when I am switching from headphones to speakers - so I bought a couple of these. They work well for that purpose, but they are 3-4 inches long. They could have made them smaller as it nearly doubles the length of my mics. They are a bit wobbley too, but I have not had a problem with the connections yet. For the price they are worth it!

Style Name: XLR3F to XLR3F Gender Changer Verified Purchase
As with anything you should immediately test when received.

When I plugged this into a male jack then removed it I found that one of the two gender-benders I'd ordered had a female pin that would not stay in the connector shell.

Being an old electronics tech I noted that the locking tab was deformed - poor quality components.

Due to the low cost I decided to send it back using Amazon's automated system and I'm waiting for a replacement now.

I use this adapter on the interface/mix board end of 1 channel of my XLR cable snake, to change 1 channel into my monitor return. I plug an XLR to Female 1/4" stereo adapter to the other end to create a headphone jack at the musician end of my setup. Now I can record with 6 channels, and monitor with 2. (It's an 8 channel XLR snake). Why do I go through all that you ask? because I have an 8 channel XLR snake, and instead of buying another snake, why not ADAPT the snake I have? hence the word adapter... :-P I love it. It's a great tool to add versatility to your setup, no matter what you're doing. Definately recommend this product to anyone that would happen to need to change an XLR to balanced 1/4" stereo... It's high quality, and very solid, I definately expect this to last me a long time.

This product is made to fail, I have purchased three, the first one was not making a connection so I pulled it out of my sub woofer and notice the contact pin had broken off. I then order two more thinking I may have been at fault, well after being a Hi Fi guy for 55 years I know how to plug in and RCA plug. The two new ones were as well defective..

Very handy to have a few of these lying around.

Unfortunately, the letters that identify it as a ground-lift adapter scratch off easily and can be mistaken for a different adapter (like a phase inverter). I remedied this by adding a label with electrical tape.

Most equipment outputs in xlr-M and you accumulate an overabundance of something to XLRM cables. With the Female to Female adapter you can often get yourself out of a connection jam by joining two cables that terminate in an xlr-M plug. This is a handy way to get two plugs to interface if you have the proper cables on hand.

Having 2 of these in your audio toolbox is a must these days if you encounter multiple types of audio connectors (RCA, TRS, TR, etc)

Style Name: XLR3F to XLR3M Power Switch Verified Purchase
This little inexpensive on/off switch is great. I have a set up where the person speaking on a mike is far away from the soundboard and I often do not have a sound person operating the board. So I wanted an on/off switch that can be used by the miked person so they could quickly kill the mike if they had to sneeze or whatever. My concern with this switch is that it would make an audible pop when turning off or on. It does not. The only reason that I did not give it 5 stars is that once you plug this thing in, with the xlr connector on the mike, the xlr connector on the mic cable, you're left with about 6 inches of inflexible connectors which is kinda awkward. Also, I worry about the connection long term. We will see.
