My 15-year-old dog has kidney disease and I have to administer subcutaneous infusions of fluids. He is doing very well. I bought this box of tubing because it was priced right. It is a basic standard tubing for IV bag and is good quality and works well, and was the best price I could find. My dog would prefer not have the subcutaneous infusions, but he is pretty happy to be alive and well.

This IV tubing set does the job. It does not have two separate fluid clamps (the "pinch" clamp and the "roller" control), as I am used to, but it has a combined clamp -- both roller and pinch together. The clamp comes "open" so if you're not used to that, be warned -- you must close the clamp before you hook the line up the the bag of fluids. My set does have the twist-on lock for the needle. There was a bit of a problem with my order, and the company was outstanding in handling it with the minimum of inconvenience. I have high regard for this company's customer service.

This I.V. administration set costs about $20 less than the one I acquired from our vet and Petsmart. However, you do get what you pay for, and the lesser quality is noticeable. Just don't expect the roller clamp to work as smoothly, and the needles just slide on instead of twisting shut within a collar for extra security. This unit does contain a port to push additional meds, which is important for my kitty. The tubing is plenty long without being too excessive. The unit is made in China, but then so are the higher priced sets. However, all of that said, it does get the job done fine, and I will continue to purchase the lower cost sets. Also, the vendor that sent the set (MedVetInternational) provided very fast delivery and did not gouge on the shipping costs.

We use these macrodrip admin sets to administer subcutaneous fluids to our cat. (200ml of LRS every other day) While this is a great price for an item that is difficult to locate (our local pharmacy stopped carrying them entirely, even by special order), the 100" length is crazy-long. Also, the tubing used in the set is the stiff clear plastic type, which unfortunately is vulnerable to kinking.

All that said, the 10dr/ml size makes for quick infusions, and the spike seems to be a good size for our Hospira 1000ml LRS bags. If only this merchant also sold 19g 1" TW Terumo needles, I'd be all set!
