So. Space pirates. The bad kind. Taken from the cruiser because she doesn't have K&R insurance, Sara's in a world of hurt. And since nobody really knows she's been taken, things aren't looking good for her.
Good thing Johnny was called in as a consultant on the mission to rescue the other woman taken with Sara or she'd suffer far worse than she already had. But SF men don't leave anybody behind. So Johnny steps in to save the day.
Being on the run on an unforgiving planet it bad enough, but the information they find out as they make their way to an abandoned base is even worse. Yep, I'm loving these guys and their battle against the awful aliens trying to gain a toehold in the Sectors.
I can't get enough of them!

Sara Bridges is enjoying her cruise around the Sector when pirates "attack". Lacking kidnap and ransom insurance, she's whisked off into human trafficking. Lucky for her the pirates are greedy buggers who snatch up a rich man's mistress along with her. Of course, the mistress gets a rescue mission that doesn't include Sara. Until Johnny Danver, a solider with integrity, decides that not all orders are legitimate and sets off to rescue her himself. Danger, adventure, and romance barrel through this tale.
I love this world. I love the characters, the aliens, the tech, and the worldbuilding. It's all interesting, and flows like a refreshing day at the beach--for me, not the characters. I have yet to read any books in this series that didn't whisk me away for an adventure tinged with romance.
Highly recommended. I already bought the other books.
When the going gets tough, Scott's heroines turn out to be every bit as tough as her military heroes, even when they surprise themselves. In this novel, Sara Bridges, an archivist and somewhat naive traveler (she doesn't even have Kidnap & Ransom insurance!), survives captivity by pirates and holds her own with Johnny Danvers, the Special Ops man pulled out of retirement to help with the rescue of another hostage.
SF romance toward the SF side of the spectrum, with believable romance and non-stop action.
I look forward to the next stories in this series.
