Scott Walker meets Dani Moore when he is working with her brother on a arson/homicide case. He sees something fragile in Dani that makes him want to protect her from the world well all except him.
Can Dani and Scott build a relationship while a lunatic is killing people and starting fires to cover it. The fires are burning HOT but all the leads are COLD.
I loved this book. Amy Briggs and Mikey Lee need to collaborate together again. There is nothing cold about the combination of these two authors. (less)
I didn't know who the killer was at first, but as soon as the interview occurred I thought I knew who it was which kind of bummed me out since I like to be kept guessing until the end. The romance was sweet, but my favorite conversations were actually between the brother and Scott because of the care and love it showed between siblings and professional support to those who serve our communities.
I enjoyed this read and would love to see a story about Clayton!!
Alone, these authors are great. Together, they are incredible! They did not disappoint with Hot & Cold! Go read this book!
The only thing I didn't like, which is more a personal preference for me, was that I felt like there was too much in other characters heads and not enough in the three main characters. There was pov jumping a few times during conversations.
I still enjoyed this and look forward to reading more.
I love the connection between Scott and Dani as well as the investigation and forensic work.
