I read this as a husband to be and found it helpful to know for my wife to be. God created sex for his purpose and glory in marriage and it helps to know a little more of the technicalities of sex from a Christian perpsective. A lot of books out there only talk about God's design for sex, which is great and all but that's like telling me how amazing a bike design is but not telling me how to ride it! J Parker gives more specific advise on the "how-to's" of sex from a Christian perspective and a lot of humor. I'd advise engagement couples to read separately and to do so a month or so before your wedding, but also to read another book on God's design/purpose of sex. I read this first then wrote some notes in it and gave it to my fiancee a month before the wedding.

It is written from a wife's perspective, and I am a husband, but I really appreciated all the sensitive subjects the author addressed, and how. She did not shy away from some subjects of life and sex, just because she knew that some silver-haired Baptist grandmother may be reading, or some judgmental "Gracie" would have something to say. Let the nay-sayers have their way, they always do, and this book deals with them succinctly. It is brilliant and insightful every step of the way. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
