Anyway, to cut to the chase on this book, Darci and Chris are fun to read about. He has had feelings for her for a long time. Darci has been totally oblivious to those feelings, largely because she had eyes for Zane. Zane, however, found true love elsewhere and is quite happy. Darci considers Chris a good friend who makes her laugh, but she doesn't consider him boyfriend material and never takes him seriously. For reasons that are critical to the plot, Darci finds herself helping Chris with a security job in Florida. Quite soon after arriving there from their home state of Virginia, Darci is suddenly aware of Chris as a man. Completely aware. They go from zero to sixty in a matter of hours and once they get there, the sheets sizzle. They are a good match for each other mentally and physically...and Chris sounds like quite the specimen. There is some background activities by evil-doers that Chris and Darci encounter while on Chris' assignment, there's the requisite misunderstanding that pushes them away from each other, and then there's the happy ending that we knew was coming.
The romance is hot, the emotional development between Chris and Darci is entertaining and charming, and I continue to LOVE the camaraderie between the group of SEALs. I am also really enjoying meeting the women who become the loves of their lives with each new story.
The reasons this is a 4-star rather than a 5-star book are that the book is almost too short and some of the interaction with Chris' client in Florida didn't seem to flow as smoothly as they should have. Definitely a solid romance and worth the read. And may I just say that I love Cat Johnson's SEALs? :)
Darci Mann is the sister of former SEAL Rick, and often present when the guys get together. While she has long lusted after Zane (to his ignorance), she was a bit heartbroken when he found love with Missy (Book 2). Meanwhile, Chris Cassidy, retired SEAL, stood by and watched the woman he cared about give her attention to his friend who didn’t deserve it. Hiding his true feelings for Darci behind jokes and friendship, Chris never made a move.
Kissed by a SEAL is another hit from Cat Johnson's sexy Hot SEALs series. Chris and Darci's story was exciting and sexy, especially when shared from his POV. The author does a wonderful job establishing Chris’s long standing feelings for Darcy, and it is laughable just how clueless she is. The fact that I've watched both individuals interact in previous books made their hookup more all the more satisfying.
While the author does an amazing job sharing how much Chris cares for Darci, I wanted more time to see Darci’s change of heart from being caught up on the wrong guy to realizing she cared about Chris. I wished that transition would have started earlier in the book so that I would have had more time with the pair as a couple.
With that said, I still enjoyed their romance. Additionally, watching GAPS (the group’s private security firm) begin to take off and see a mission was satisfying. I look forward to reading more about the team and would love to go back and revisit the couples who are just starting out in their fledgling relationships. Overall, Kissed by a SEAL is an entertaining, sexy romance.

I enjoyed Kissed by a SEAL by Cat Johnson. Since it is a short book, it can be difficult to fully develop the story and the character. Ms. Johnson does this very well. I'm glad she had the hero and heroine already acquaintances. That made the romance that blossoms between them much more believable.
Chris is a great character. He has all the ingredients needed, good looks, bravery, and a certain vulnerability, which I enjoyed a great deal. That vulnerability is what I found most appealing. Most ex-SEALs rarely show that in their character in most of the military romances I've read with a SEAL.
I also enjoyed Darci. She is an uncomplicated character, but sweet young woman. There could have been a bit more character building to add some depth to her that would have enhanced the romance between her and Chris.
Now, let's talk the sexual scenes, they were smokin' hot. Their passion burned my ears and heated my Kindle. The chemistry becomes sizzling as the story progresses.
All in all, this is an enjoyable read. The suspense angle is very well-written and believable as well, and kept the pacing fast. While there is not much conflict, I found that refreshing because sometimes there is too much of that and it drags out the story.
I thoroughly enjoyed the narrative by Craig Jessen. It truly brought the characters to life. He managed Chris' southern drawl with easy along with the other characters in this book. I'll be looking for more books narrated by Mr. Jessen!
If you enjoy a hot romance between a gorgeous Navy SEAL with plenty of great love scenes, then you will enjoy Kissed by a SEAL. I know I did. Happy reading!
