And I hope the company reads this because my most significant comment is that the whole thing is just too long for me. If it were a bit shorter in both the styling end and the handle end I think it would be better and easier to handle. Just my two cents.
Once it exploded in my hand (at setting 5 - can't imagine what setting 10 would have done), I checked online and other people have had this problem with Helen of Troy curling irons. I was lucky it was not next to my head. You can check out the reports at SaferProducts.gov which is part of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Helen of Troy needs to monitor the manufacture and safety of its curling irons, which are made in China.
replace them which was not a problem. The last one I bought not even a year old and the wiring that connects to the iron broke and it is a problem to fix it. I have never had this problem before..So frustrating...Thirty dollars down the drain because the wiring is faulty. I had to buy a new one..If I find any other product which does the job equally well, I would stop buying this.
Wish there was some way I could send the product back to them to show what is going on....I guess I will call their customer service and see if then can help...I most certainly hope so.
I have been using this product for many years and in the past, the bristles would fall off - not a big deal - i ordered more and then with about four of them every time the tip would break and fall off...i think it is because the iron gets hot very fast and the plastic becomes brittle....now the wiring......So frustrated.
especially if you hair tends to frizz. It adds body without
making it too tight. The temperature is adjustable for
any one, and the combs keep it from burning you.
I never have trouble ordering from Amazon. They are
always less money, easy web sight, and my orders are
