Fun reading, off to read more!
Isabella Flores and her father had to flee San Marcos. Her father was a reporter that told the truth about General Lopez who ran the country. The general wanted them killed and they killed Isabella's brother and he mother left them. Her father hired Decorah Security to protect them in the US. A young man named Matthew protected them. Isabella and Matthew became very close. Matthew was assigned to another project and Isabella heard he was killed.
Some of the men came after Isabella, but she had planned beforehand in case they came after her. Two men came after her and she got away and went to their hidden ranch. When she got there, she felt and heard someone. That person was Matthew and he was ghost like. He said he was there to protect her. This story is not about a ghost, but is something more. It is not my normal type of read, but I really enjoyed the book.
Carole Mortimer. Warrior Alpha
Nikolai Volkov was head of security for the Markovic family's business and personal bodyguard to Gregori Markovic, the head of the Russian contingent of London's infamous criminal underworld. Daisy Redmond worked for Grayson Security and was hired to be Nikolai's bodyguard. Nikolai was a lone wolf that did everything on his own, he certainly didn't need a woman protecting him. He had fought for his life since he was a child and done things that would make others sick. Now a rival family has a contract out on Nikolai's life, just to show that he has what it takes to take over the family. Daisy has to pretend to be Nikolai's woman so she can be around him 24/7.
This was a very good book. It was exciting, intriguing, fast paced, and had love included. Daisy was a special person that you can't help but really like. Nikolai is such a strong person and has never felt loved. He doesn't know if he even knows what love is. The people around Nikolai are such good friends and loved how they treated Nikolai and Daisy. This is a hard fought love story.
Sharon Hamilton. Nashville Seal Part 1
Jameson Daniel was a country western singer in Nashville and hoping to make it big. I didn't like him at first because all he did was sing and take a different woman to bed every night. He did have one woman, Lizzie, from North Carolina that he spent a week with her and her parents. That had been three years ago. Lizzie comes to Nashville where he is singing and she tells him that he is a father and has a little girl. He is stunned, but can't wait to meet her. Before Lizzie told him about his daughter, he had talked to some Seals that had been in the audience earlier. He was fascinated with them. He ended up taking Lizzie and their daughter to San Diego to see them. The trip didn't turn out how he planned.
This was a good book that ended with some suspense. I love children and their little girl sounded like a real doll. I loved that Jameson grew up and took responsibility for himself. Lizzie is a strong woman that loved deeply. This is a good book.
Jameson Part II
This is a continuation of Jameson and Lizzie's story. Ms. Hamilton does a wonderful job of describing Jameson and Lizzie's wedding. Jameson's old country western singer friend calls him to let Jameson know that Thomas has finally signed with Sony for a singing contract. Thomas wants Jameson to come to Nashville to celebrate with him. Unfortunately Jameson is getting ready to ship out in a few days, but Lizzie talks him into going. Things in Nashville are worse than Jameson remembered and things go downhill between Jameson and Lizzie.
This book contains suspense, anger, misunderstandings, death, and love to name a few. The book leaves you setting on the edge of your seat at times. It also shows how much Jameson has matured and I liked him so much more. It was a very good book.
Playing with Fire
This book is so good that this is the second time I read it. It has been a few years since I read it, but it was still as exciting. This book got me hooked on Taylor Lee who is a great writer. The book kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book. Erin is such a brave woman that has been treated so bad in the past. When she gets a job at the fire station in this small town in Minnesota, she finds out what it is like to have a family. Nate is a cocky police detective that rubs Erin the wrong way. It keeps you on your toes listening to the two of them go after each other when mad. This book has false identity, betrayal, crooked cops, fires, and some good people that you want on your side. Great book!
Special Agent: Booker
Wow! Another very good book in this set. It has so many things I love in a book--mystery, action, suspense, FBI agents, love, and happy endings. Sloan Booker was a great agent in Hawaii until his dad died in a car wreck and Sloan left to take over his Dad's car shop. Really he had three dads growing up. His mother left when he was six months old and the three men had been in love with his mother. They didn't really know which one was his father, so they all raised him.
Sloan's Pakistan neighbors were getting company that the FBI were suspicious that they were coming to the US to cause trouble. Alia was another FBI agent that is going to live with Sloan so they can watch the people that are visiting the Pakistan neighbors. Alia used to live in Pakistan and knows the language. She also needs to bring her eight year old son because his nanny had to leave. There is so much going on with all these people that you are never bored. Alia's ex husband was a piece of work that I could not stand. There are a few twists toward that end that made me happy. This is a good book.
The Hot Shots - Book 2 The Scotland Yard Exchange Series
Sophia or Pixie as her friends call her, was set up to film a decorating show. Her best friend and boss Grace asks her to do a favor for her detective husband David. She needs to go to the airport to pickup a Scotland Yard exchange inspector named Chauncey Miller. Chauncey has a terrorist after him as Chauncey killed his brother. Unfortunately the terrorist sees Chauncey with Pixie and is after both of them.
This book has adventure, suspense, action and love. The story starts in Boston, goes to London, and then back to Boston. Is you like action books, you will love this on. I enjoyed it.
I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this anthology.
