Ben Longoria with a poetic mind and incredible imagination brings to life the befallen earth in a state that can only be called " End Town". The reader journeys with the stories protagonist Scout as he travels the crushed world that once was full of life but now only holds ruin and despair. Longoria has a style reminiscent to McCarthy but different in the fact that it has a deeper prose and fascinating similes. His transition from scene to scene flows better then most professional writers these days. It feels at times like he's also describing something that actually happened and comes across as biographical. There are a few chapters in the Hound that grabbed me deeper then even the Road by McCarthy. I believe this is a great start to an author we will hear much of in the future.

The Hound of Endtown is a well written and emotional story viewed from a unique perspective during the end of civilization as we know it. There is a good mix of action and heart wrenching sorrow throughout the story to keep the reader engaged. I recommend this book to anyone who likes stories about the end of the world because it is told from a point of view that is often overlooked and very interesting. I don't think I have ever read anything like this book! It is very readable and enjoyable.

I can easily say i've never read a story quite like this one. From the first page i was hooked, strapped tight as hell into the car of an absolutely mind-blowing emotional roller coaster. I experienced fierce love, deep sadness, dread so intense that i could feel the blood drain from my face, then relief that left my heart pounding, and finally, hope; the best of all. As we live Scout's adventure, through his eyes we see both the best and the despicable worst of humanity. His story isn't just about struggle and loneliness, it's about the kind of true valor and soul-encompassing enlightenment that should be shared amongst mankind long into the uncertain future.

The emotion is unreal. Midway through I was on feeling for the pup. How the author portrays what the character is enduring through words is amazing. I felt like I was on the journey with scout.
