We ordered them during hurricane season. During Hurrican Issace we were without power for 6 days. It provided great light. My hubby discovered we could use it for cooking also. He made a little stove.using hangers and books and set the candle underneath. Important note. keep the food covered becuase there is a black smug underneath the pots.

I haven't had to use these emergency candles yet, thank goodness. But I anticipate they will be more reliable than the ordinary wax candles, and unlike my flashlights I won't have to worry about the batteries being fresh.

Living in a hurricane area, thought these might come in handy instead of using batteries. Put off almost no smoke so work ok in a tent too.

ok dont buy 2 thinking your whole living room will be filled with light. the flame is weak so the light emitted from it is weak..... i think they work best if you put them somewhere you need a little light to navigate around objects or on a table for reading. all and all the product does as its promised

I've lit them up just to test them out.
They light and burn with almost no smoke or smell, seems like a good emergency kit item for stationary kits like the utility room, I don't think they'd hold up well in a B.O.B. or car since they are glass bottles and filled with flamable liquid. (Maybe they should add threads to the cap so that they are sure to be liquid tight.)

This is a must have for any emergency situation. I also received a catalog from this vendor that had some great deals with other products they offer.
