International Addresses: Magazine subscriptions offered at Amazon.com can only be shipped within the 50 United States, APO/FPO address and U.S. Protectorates. We are unable to process magazines to other destinations at this time. Please contact the magazine's publisher for further assistance.

When to Expect Your First Issue: Magazine subscriptions ordered at Amazon.com are shipped to you by the magazine's publisher. The first issue of a weekly magazine should arrive within 4-6 weeks of your order. The first issue of a monthly magazine should arrive within 4-6 weeks, unless otherwise noted.

Once you've placed an order at Amazon.com, it can take one to two weeks for your subscription to be received and scheduled by the publisher. Your subscription is then added to the publisher's next production cycle and shipped via standard mail. For example, if your monthly subscription was ordered and received by the publisher in November, and the December issue has already shipped, your order may be added to the January mailing. You can find out more information, including how to contact the publisher about your subscription, in Amazon's Magazine Subscription Manager.

Renewing Your Subscription: If you are ordering as a renewal to the same name and address as the current subscription, the publisher will add the Amazon order to your current subscription. Please note that the expiration date in the Magazine Subscription Manager will not reflect if you were already on file with the publisher. We will work with the publisher to ensure that you still receive all of the issues left on your subscription.

    • Control your subscription settings anytime using Amazon's Magazine Subscription Manager.
    • If you purchase the auto-renewal offer, your subscription will renew for the same term length at the renewal rate available on Amazon. Cancel anytime.

    Who Reads House Beautiful?
The House Beautiful reader is someone whose home is her bedrock. She is always improving it because the process – and result – delights her. Happiness in her home comes from easy luxury and highly personal style. Her home is a gift to share with family and friends.

What You Can Expect in Each Issue:

    • The Best: The editors' inside-view of today's hottest products.
    • Color: The perfect color every time! Top designers share their colorful secrets for effectively using color.
    • The Makeover: Monthly series following the progress of an ongoing renovation project.
    • Tablescape: Expert advice on setting a luxurious table--or creating a tabletop vignette--in your own home.
    • Ask the Barefoot Contessa: Ina Garten shares simple how-tos, recipes, and entertaining tips.
    • Cookbook: Editors put the latest cookbooks to the test, making recipes and offering real advice on what works--and what doesn't.
    • Features: House Beautiful is the home design magazine that puts the reader and her lifestyle, tastes and dreams first. Recent issues have showcased furniture, accessories for the home, the use of color in your rooms, and how to make the most of a small space.

    Magazine Layout:
House Beautiful is a larger-than-average magazine printed on rich, glossy paper that makes the photography inside jump off the pages. It is a highly visual magazine featuring homes that are approachable and eclectic.

    Contributors:
Editor-in-chief: Stephen Drucker, since October 2005. Prior to that he was a contributing editor at Architectural Digest and Martha Stewart Living. Editors at large include Mary Emmerling, Senga Mortimer, and Robert Rufino. Other contributing editors include The Barefoot Contessa, Ina Garten, and Frances Schultz.

    Past Issues:

    Comparisons to Other Magazines:
House Beautiful has a clean-cut feel that celebrates a healthy indoor/outdoor lifestyle. Because it's all about the reader, House Beautiful does not endorse a particular style, region, or coast. It is an all-inclusive experience.

    Awards:
Honors include: Interior Design Hall of Fame inductee, 1993 Circle of Excellence Award, International Furnishings & Design Association Star of Design Award and the Pacific Design Center Frank Lloyd Wright Conservancy Special Interest Award.

Homeowners looking for design ideas will appreciate the wide selection of styles and treatments offered in House Beautiful. From the latest in simplistic style, new takes on Bauhaus-influenced furniture, lighter approaches to Victorian architecture, and a return to the gaudy patterns of 18th-century French room treatments, House Beautiful tends toward no particular school of design. It offers the best of a wide range of ideas, trusting the readers to make decisions of taste on their own. That said, one theme tends to run throughout. People looking for low-cost designs for small homes with simple architecture are more likely to find a sense of direction in these pages than those people of mightier means looking for the full-treatment solutions. --Brian Trinen

1.0 out of 5 stars Watch out for Hearst magazine scams. May 22, 2009
While I love the publication, please watch out for Hearst Magazine scams. I received a renewal invoice/letter regarding another Hearst publication, Popular Mechanics which I have never read, ordered, or received. [...]

When I emailed Hearst (there is no phone number for customer service) to let them know that I did not order this publication, they sent the following reply: "We have received your renewal order. When payment of [...] is received, service will continue through 12 issues."

I'm not sure what part of "I did not order this magazine and do not want this magazine" they did not understand. Terrible company and it is unfortunate that they take advantage of their customers in this way.

    Hearst is the worst.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Gorgeous October 5, 2011
    By Sharon
    Verified Purchase
As a long time subscriber, I grieved when House and Garden died. But gradually House Beautiful stepped up to take it's place and has become more particular, more sophisticated, more fulfilled every year. Since the last turnover of editors it is even more individual and spacious with a distinctive and well thought out point of view and is a monthly pleasure that I wouldn't want to do without. More American in inspiration than Elle Decor, it is a worthy opponent for first place as my favorite decorating inspiration. Love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars my replacement... June 28, 2009
I picked up this magazine as a replacement for my beloved 'Domino'(still sobbing over this loss!). HB would be the child of 'Domino' and 'Elle Decor'. A bit more grown up than 'Domino', with less pretension and more realistic ideas than 'Elle Decor'. Maybe everyone just can't run out and purchase the majority of the items showcased, but everyone can get great inspirational ideas from this magazine. And, if you are not creative...well, at least it serves as pretty eye candy.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE THIS MAGAZINE March 11, 2010

I am a decorating magazine junkie so I have subscribed to many decorating magazines. This is my favorite of all. The interiors are inspiring and I find myself clipping the pictures for inspiration for my own projects. The ideas are fresh and unique. They do not dwell on what is currently in vogue (e.g. the latest color combination) but focus more on the person's lifestyle. Personally I love decorating that is not trendy, and this magazines delivers just that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Refined Perspective April 8, 2010
    Verified Purchase
I believe that House Beautiful has become a standard of sorts in American decorating magazines (perhaps taking the baton from the now defunkt House and Garden, and giving Elle Decor steep competition). The editors take a very intelligent perspective - always finding a new angle, The photography and the layout are beautiful. A thinking designers magazine, reliably a collection of beautiful images and smart commentary monthly.

5.0 out of 5 stars If I could get just ONE magazine... April 19, 2011
House Beautiful would be the one magazine I would get if I could only get one. The professional decorating advice on color, fabrics, furniture, and new trends is invaluable. It is reader friendly, and a visual feast for the eyes every month - the photography is excellent. There are very few issues that I recycle, and those I do are often missing several pages that I have torn out to save.
