Love this planner! I'm a very busy grad student in a PhD program, and this is perfect for my needs. I used the 2011-2012 version this past year, and already have my new one all set up for classes starting in August. I feel like my whole life is in this planner, and I truly don't think I'd do nearly as well staying on top of my coursework, assistantship, and practicum without it. It is well-organized and laid out, so it makes it easy for me to stay organized with my classes, meetings, and assignments, and it's a perfect size and weight so that I can take it with me wherever I go.

This will be the second year I've used this calendar. I use it at work. I'm in a technical field and it has a cool combination of techie-looking graphics and retro fonts.

There's plenty of room each day for my appointments and short notes. I like the fact that it's recycled. I look forward to the "quote of the week," and I actually use some of the reference pages that are included (metric conversion, for example). Last year's calendar held up extremely well - no creases, tears, etc. despite some abuse on my part.

I'm actively looking for other House of Doolittle products just because I've been happy with this one. No, they didn't pay me to write this - I just really like this thing!

I looked through a bunch of academic planners on Amazon before I ended up choosing the first one I saw. This is a perfect, no-frills planner that has all that I need for my college classes. I decided I didn't need a planner with pretty designs or unnecessary features but just a good, basic one with enough space for each day - which is exactly what this is. The solid black "leatherette" cover isn't as soul-crushingly dull as I thought it would be. It seems "professional" and durable enough, and it makes me feel more productive.

The best part is that the paper is from 100% post-consumer recycled material and printed with soy inks - AND made in the USA! The paper quality was excellent - not too thin, and allowed for smooth writing.

I'd recommend this planner - if it doesn't seem pretty enough just slap some stickers on it and pretend you're back in elementary school ;)

It is ok. Smallish enough to carry around effortlessly. But not great space for writing. My biggest complaint is that there is almost no room for entries on Saturdays and Sundays. Times have changed. We are not only busy Monday to Friday.

This planner is easy to love, especially for college students. I'm in grad school taking 5 classes and a 3-day/week field placement, and there's just no wiggle room for mistakes. I needed something simple, inexpensive, portable, and compact that would allow me to plan and reference on the fly. I also bought the Academic Desk Pad Calendar from Doolittle, and went through all my syllabi for due dates on papers, projects, quiz and exam dates, etc, using that as a master organizer. That allows me to backtrack and efficiently apportion my time for each objective, and place appropriate cues each week in my planner. This method is bullet-proof, and has cured me of my former love affair with procrastination.

With ample room for daily entries, a quick-reference 4-month calendar on each 2-page spread that includes dates for the prior month, the present month, and two future months, and a full-page calendar for each month, there are plenty of options for planning and reference. In the back is a two-page weekly grid for a class schedule that I found particularly useful. The first page is for the fall term, and the second will be for my winter term. Added with the boilerplate pages that include a North American map, states and capitals, US presidents, common formulas and a conversion table, etc, and there's really nothing missing for me here.

I used to use a compact-sized Franklin planner, but that's just too bulky to carry around. This 5x8-inch planner is the perfect size, and lies flat enough in my messenger bag to fit in an auxiliary pocket. As has been mentioned, the binding/one-piece plastic cover design is a bit off-putting at first, because it doesn't allow the planner cover to completely close when I set it down. I keep wanting to pinch the cover nearest the binding to flatten out the cover, but this is really a minor distraction that I believe will cure itself over time. Overall, this is a no-brainer purchase. I love it.

I am a college student and I used this planner last year. It's wonderful for keeping track of daily, weekly, and monthly assignments and appointments. I also liked the space in the back for office hours and class schedules. It's so compact and light- really easy to carry around. And I can feel like I'm helping the environment in a small way since it's all recycled paper. The only thing I noticed is that it doesn't have some blank pages for notes like last year's. This was helpful sometimes if I had to jot down a quick phone number on the fly. Other than that small complaint, I definitely look forward to using it again this year!

I received the 5 X 8 inch House of Doolittle Academic Weekly Planner right on time. It has everything I was looking for - a good sized space for daily appts on a page of weekdays. What I was disappointed in, but this was not the fault of the product, was the size. I saw that it was a 5 X 8 inch when I ordered it, but didn't really give a lot of thought to how small that actually was.

I bought the planner for my desk but I'm thinking it is actually a better size to carry in my purse. It's a little smaller than my Kindle.
