Editorial Reviews

There is a place near old Londontown where seemingly "normal" people congregate to abandon their mundane lives and problems. They call it the House of Sin, the man in charge is known only as "The Mage". No one knows who he is or where he came from, nor do they care. In the House of Sin, they are free to explore every desire, perversion and emotion, to be humiliated and dominated or to be the one cracking the whip, to become someone or something else, engaging in bizarre behavior that would not be at all acceptable in the "real world".
Prepare to be shocked and even disgusted by what goes on behind these closed doors and to wonder if your neighbors and people you see on the street everyday might be searching for the same thing, to pursue their wild fantasies unbridled by the rules of a "sane" society.
Featuring music videos by rap star Dap C, and rock band No Redemption.
House of Sin is a strange and unique British film that you will never forget. Dare to enter the House of Sin and reveal your darkest desires.

When I came across the tiny and very underground zombie epic "The Defiled," it made me curious about the rogue and gutsy agency responsible for the film. So, I also checked out Chemical Burn's "Cam Girl"--a micro-budgeted thriller filmed entirely in a small apartment with one actress. Both of these films represent well what can be accomplished in movie making completely outside the conventional film scene. These guys are rebels! Utilizing some of the homemade principles that helped to create "Cam Girl," the same team upped the stakes for the larger and more complex "House of Sin." But, in the land of excess, bigger does not always translate into better. With more actors, more plotting, and more moving parts--the film suffers with it oddball pairing of sexploitation, mysticism, and psychology. Too staid and humorless to provide real ooh la la, "House of Sex" attempts to be an arty exploration of human sexuality and the results are painfully awkward.

The eerie house showcased on the DVD cover really has nothing to do with the film. The house is actually a stark and meagerly furnished apartment. The notorious house is a place of sexual freedom where people come to explore their darkest feelings and realize their true identity. Mostly this means that women come to the house to participate in mild lesbianism. The establishment is presided over by a rather distasteful man called only the mage. The mage is supposedly imbued with an almost hypnotic power and the place is a shrine to his essence. His right hand man struggles with the morality of the mage's power--does he exploit or help visitors? As he becomes more intricately involved, the question weighs heavily on his soul.

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible. (Just keep repeating that) First, most of it looks like it was videoed on a phone although My phone takes better video.. Second, you really dislike all the characters. Third, It doesn't really go anywhere. Its like three minutes of story & plot stretched to an hour. Painful to get through.
For those looking for something erotic: You also want to skip it. Do not expect almost any nudity. The fetish stuff is not really shown. The photography if you can call it that, obscured most everything. Don't be fooled by the cover shown as its not in the movie. Go watch a good Jess Franco movie instead.

The stupidest, non-sexiest, piece of crap I've seen EVER!!! Somebody owes me an hour of my life back. I watched the entire movie because I feel you shouldn't comment unless you see the whole movie, I have to re-think that rule after this crap fest.

What a waste of film and time. Mumbled dialog that I had to turn the volume way up to hear, then I am deafened by the sound of an old woman's Go-Go boots walking on the wood floor. I found nothing good about this convoluted film. Save yourself some time and money and avoid this.

Normally I give films like this 3 stars just for the nudity, which they should of just had without all the stupid commentary. The film focuses on a converted hotel where people (young girls) can "find their true selves" by engaging in a sexual fantasy. A guest of the house provides us with his annoying insights. The establishment is run by a man known as "The Mage." He has all the wisdom and belly lard one acquires from playing video games all the time.

The film is about 70 minutes with a 30 minute feature on making the short film. I would imagine if you watched the film for the naked girls, you'll be watching this too, but don't expect a story line or anything that has meaning outside of the circle of people who made this production. It is bad soft core.

House of Sin tells the story of Mage, this is a man who has the ability to have sex with any woman he wants, By word of mouth woman come to the House of Sin where Mage dwells they come to live their wildest dreams often these woman are Married or in some cases religious zealots who get in touch with their libidos In the way Of Lesbianism and some Groovy spanking. The film in parts is narrated by Mages assistant who observes the goings on with an open mind, one particular day a very innocent vulnerable girl shows up only to fall to the spell of the Mage the woman's husband finds out & comes looking for Mage, What Happens-Find out get the Dvd , I recommend, this was a fun and exciting film with great suspense that kept me interested the whole time a very watchable indie sexploitation film with a touch of horror & suspense. This is a strong release from Chemical burn.

This movie reminded me of an erotic and less gory version of Hostile. Remember that movie where the wealthy could act out any fantasy they had? Those fantasies seemed to revolve around torture and murder, while in House of Sin sex is on the menu--and there's a huge variety! Why do I love Philip Gardiner films? He's living a dream, that's why. He has the ambition to follow what intrigues him and makes films from them. It's also interesting to see him "grow" over the years. His films get better, tighter, and more intriguing. I'm always wondering what he'll come up with next. House of Sin didn't disappoint me. There's enough eroticism without downright porn. It's eerie and weird, without making your stomach churn (which I felt while watching Hostile!) What would you do if you entered a house like this? What fantasies do you keep locked up? Or would it shock and disgust you to enter this home?
