Reaching for new heights!
This extensive shoe tree is perfect for families or shoe aficionados! It fits an 8-foot ceiling with the tension mount spring and top piece. An extender piece can also be attached to reach 9-foot ceilings. It's versatile, practical shoe storage in underused vertical space. The extender pole is tension-mounted for extra stability.
Movable Revolving Tiers
6 rotating tiers make it almost too easy to get to your footwear. Each tier can be positioned--and repositioned--along the pole. This lets you control the spacing between tiers--giving you the room to make sure every shoe fits.
A charming, extra-handy basket is perfect for those little extras. And, just like the tiers, the basket can also be positioned anywhere you like along the pole. It's perfect organization the way you want it.
A weighted base with anchoring screw helps keep this towering shoe tree steady. The base acts as a counterweight for the shoes, improving the tree's balance and stability. Keep your shoes balanced on the tiers for a secure place to rest weary soles.
This shoe tree assembles quickly and easily. It comes with the tools you'll need for the shoe tree you want. And, best of all, you can readjust your tier's positions even after the tree has been put together.
Household Essentials Floor-to-Ceiling Revolving Shoe Tree is a vertical way to store your shoes. This convenient tree holds up to 36 pairs of shoes in a 12-inch cross section of space. It has 6 adjustable carousels that hold 6 pairs of shoes each. Because they are adjustable, you can store them at just the right height for you. The floor-to-ceiling pole has a tension-mount top piece that fits 8-9-foot ceilings. Its weighted bottom also secures the stand and keeps it steady. The entire unit measures 99.21 inches high (approx. 8.25 feet), 12 inches wide, and 12 inches deep. The elegant shoe stand is made of heavy-duty, commercial-grade steel for a durable, long-lasting shoe storage solution. There is even a convenient basket for holding accessories, socks, and other odds and ends. For the true shoe aficionado, or couples sharing closet space, this floor-to-ceiling Shoe Tree is the solution.

Why do I say it was only *relatively* easy to put together and install? Because my house has low ceilings - 87 inches (7.25 feet). As a result, I had to cut 3" inches off the final pole segment (excluding the optional extender piece for 9-foot ceilings). This was not difficult in itself, but would have been without the appropriate saw. After removing the 3 inches, the pole *just* fit - i.e., it took some strength to put it in place. On the upside, this makes it very sturdy.
Upshot: if your ceiling is less than 90 inches, you will need to shorten the pole. If it is exactly 90 inches, you should be able to install it (minus - obviously - the extender piece) with some brute strength. If your ceiling is 90+ inches, you should be able to install it with little or no difficulty.
This shoe rack holds a ton of shoes - 36 pairs. It took everything my previous rack held and has room to spare. It was very easy to set up - no tools required aside from the allen wrench included in the package. I did it myself in about 15 minutes, including loading it up with shoes.
Be sure the space you choose has room around it for the shoes to move since each carousel rotates for easy location. My two concerns are :
1- the clamp that holds each carousel up is made of plastic. I wonder if they will break over time with a heavy load and repeated usage
2 - the individual tines that hold each pair of shoes are spaced a bit tightly. Women's shoes fit fine but men's can be crowded.
Overall this design is perfect for the space I have.
As for the height: the pole comes with a spring and a top piece which you'll need for 8' ceilings. If you have 9' ceilings, you add the second 'extender' piece-- granted, the instructions could have beem more clear on this part, as they tell you to assemble both pieces, NOT just to do so if you NEED the extra foot... But there is no need to cut off the 'excess', just don't use the extra bar. Mine fits perfectly in my 8' carpeted closet- no shims, no cutting or modifications, tight as it should be.
As for its stability, I have 36 pairs of size 9-10 shoes on it, and it's perfectly sturdy. It's not designed to hold boots, but everything else from heels, sandals, flip-flops, loafers, sneakers, whatever, all fit fine- you just need to adjust the heights/distances between the carousels so the shoes don't bump into what's above/below. Yes, that may mean the top carousel is up high, but I put seldom-used and off-season shoes up there. Yes, you see the scuffed and worn bottoms of your (neatly organized, paired up, clutter-free) shoes- much better than the jumble I used to see when I walked into my closet. As for it being 'unsanitary' to have the soles facing out, I have no idea how it's any more/less so than storing your shoes in any other manner...
Also, I assembled this in my bedroom, and then moved it into the closet where it will 'live', and had no problem moving it after the fact. I'm usually reluctant to attribute others' troubles on 'user error', and it's possible some people received a defective product, but I had none of the issues others described, and am very happy w/this purchase. Great value, shipped quickly, works exactly as intended, and my closet floor is clear for the first time in ages, so hallelujah and 5-stars!
