I'm giving this book a five because I learned how to do air cuttings and that is something that I could definitely use for plants outside too! To me learning about this technique alone is worth the price of the book. I'm not sure how I have missed it over the years but I'm really glad to learn about it.
I also love the instructions for the t-shirt and macrame planters. The instructions are really simple and clear, and they are laid out step by step with pictures.
I enjoy this book and I like the very practical, attractive craft ideas in the book and I can use them. My husband wants to open a greenhouse business one day, and I can use these ideas!
Several of the crafts repurpose common items like t-shirts into beautiful things for plant showcasing, and I think that is wonderful.
Great book! The ideas in this book could be easily done by most crafty teens and adults.
I am a plant newbie, but over the past year I've really started trying to improve upon my black thumb and introduce some new plants into my apartment. I thought this book would be a great opportunity to enhance that experience, and I have definitely enjoyed it so far.
First, what I liked: this book has gorgeous pictures, can be navigated and read easily. The introduction is short but informative, and a list of good starter plants (along with a couple of more advanced plants, such as venus flytraps) is included with info and pictures. The crafts section of the book makes up the majority of the content and it's done well, with pictures, step by step instructions, and materials lists. As for the crafts themselves - I thought the author did a good job of mixing in easy crafts with tougher ones and I'm certainly excited to try pretty much every one listed!
Only negative is that book is pretty short and physically not even that big. Makes it portable, but for the almost twenty dollar price tag at time of review it's a little overpriced. I would still recommend this as a gift or for personal use.
