Reviewing a book by E. C. Stilson makes me want to paraphrase the Will Rogers' line; "She never wrote a book I didn't like!" I'm 78 years old, so I don't really NEED these suggestions any more, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy them--and I did! There were lots of chuckles and several belly laughs and even a few "aha" moments. I'm probably going to buy several more copies to give to my children and grandchildren. It would be a shame to let all this knowledge go to waste.

Wow! This is a must read even if you're a happy nympho in a fantastic relationship, or you need techniques to avoid your partner like the plague!

A very funny and witty book that gives you 10 hilarious and truthful ways to avoid intimacy because lets face it; we aren't ON all of the time.

The chapters are well written with great back stories to provide examples and parallels for each scenario.

I reviewed How to Avoid Having Sex, in exchange for review from LibraryThing's Early Reviewers Program. The book was written by E.C. Stilson. I received my copy earlier today and finished it about 10 minutes ago (8:14 pm now). I selected the book from the March selections because A) I am celibate and needed a good laugh B) I used to be married and had my own excuses for not having sex. Some of my excuses was in the book. A few days ago, I was looking on Amazon for books on celibacy and abstinence. Stilson's book popped up in the search. I added the book to my wish list. Then, a few minutes later, I got the email from LT, saying I won the book. Yay me. I was patiently awaiting the book's arrival in my inbox. I got the book today and started reading it.

This was an amazing quick read. The book is about excuses, to avoid having sex with your spouse. Some of them worked. Some of them backfired on her, when the husband tried them too. Some of them included headaches, cycles, dead animals, company, and the kids may hear us. The author, not only provided excuses, but the stories behind the excuses. The book was hilarious. The book is available on Kindle (.99) and paperback (8.99) on Amazon

The author is hilarious. I really do not recommend her book for how to avoid sex but if you have been married for years, I recommend it for laughs.

How to Avoid Having Sex by EC. Stilson is a short tongue in cheek "do it yourself" or perhaps a "self-improvement" book. I wasn't sure what to make of it. Ms. Stilson lists ten ways to avoid sex with accompanying examples and back story of how she figured that one out. As I have been married 30 years, they struck me as silly, yet spot on and still brought a chuckle out of me. This is a quick, entertaining, and (perhaps) accurate book.
I received this book for free in order to review it.

This is NOT the perfect wedding gift. This is the perfect gift for the one year anniversary.

E.C.Stilson missed her true calling. She should have been a marriage counselor for women only. She puts as much thought into avoiding sex as men put into having sex. So turnabout is fair play. I especially enjoyed the pranks that poor Cade involved himself in, but when he did, I don't think he was giving it much forethought. After all, he kind of shot himself in the foot with the onion prank. Which leaves me looking at onions in a whole different way.

Five stars for a truly original subject matter!

EC Stilson's How to Avoid Having Sex is a breezy, eccentric read, and I believe many will smile and nod as the author relates the intimate details of sex negotiation between her and her husband. This will hit close to home for most readers.

The book's overall style is equal parts inspired and equal parts disordered--some chapters connect while others seem out of place. I recommend it if you're in the mood for a unique kind of ironic humor.
