Comment: This book has already been loved by someone else. It MIGHT have some wear and tear on the edges, have some markings in it, or be an ex-library book. Over-all it is still a good book at a great price! (if it is supposed to contain a CD or access code, that may be missing)

This is a great resource for young counselors to read before camp, to help them prepare to lead a group of kids. I have been recommending it to my counselors for years. Those who do read it have found it extremely helpful. It's unfortunate that we can't order it new anymore, and used copies seem to be dwindling. I have purchased at least a dozen copies in the past, and would like to buy more...

As a Camp Director, I used this book as a resource for our Junior Counselor program. It's one of the best. It's easy enough to read and use - and the information is solid and time tested. Would love to see this in every new counselor's hands.

I had already spent one summer as a camp counselor and was preparing for another summer in the woods with kids when I discovered this book. The book is filled with lots of good advice, helpful scenarios, tidbits and stories, useful ideas and information. It's written in an easy-to-read style and even when carefully soaking up all the information, should only take a few days to read. This book could be quite helpful for someone who is preparing to counsel at a summer camp for the first time and has a bad case of the nervous jitters. However, if you're already a veteran at the job, there isn't a whole lot here that you don't already know.

Overall this was a pretty helpful and informative book. I have been a camp counselor for two years now and found some interesting things in this book. It is worth the price for a quick read for a new or inexperienced counselor. Didn't realize that it was going to be religious in nature but wasn't too bad. There are a few references to the bible and God. There were times when I felt it was repeating itself but it flowed well and was an easy read.

Good job training for first time, or returning camp counselors. Good suggestions, and approaches to think about, plan and prepare.
