I like the "how to do everything" series of books - they have a good layout, index and color pictures with lots of examples. As a reference book it is quite easy to look up anything you need to know or just read through to learn how the software works. I used this when learning version 5 and it was fine.

I got this book to learn how to use the tools in Illustrator CS4 and it was just what I wanted with great tips and tricks. ThIs book is only for CS4 if you have a old or new version of Illustrator some of the tools are missing or have had changes done to them.

This book is good for the beginners.
I wouldn't recommend to the people who are trying to learn special
techniques.

This is not what I expected. Everything, should mean everything, and it doesn't cover everything. The "Real World" series is a much better line of books for teaching the graphic design software. It's not even a good reference. I was looking for a specific task such as converting text to paths and it doesn't show it. In other places it refers to buttons but doesn't say where they are, etc.

Do not have time or patience to give you an extensive review.. this is stupid to ask. Don't do it anymore. Please return to your old 'review' received the darn book or what ever... I will not participate in this. I find it very irritating and will not do it.
