Format: Paperback
The world changed in 2012 when Apple computer elevated its iTunes program from a computer owner's entertainment center to the model, nerve center, and very engine of mobile technology, leading to the subsequent explosion of social media. Suddenly your computer, tablet or iPhone was your ticket to a ride to points local, global, and stops in between--but it all begins at Apple's nexus, which is the now modestly-titled "iTunes." iTunes is where you receive information from iCloud--ranging from personal e-mails to downloads of Apple's most recent operating system (El Capitan) and, yes, even the movies, photos, books and tunes that you wish to have streamed into your mobile devices as you circle the globe. And of course its the center for transmitting requests for all of the aforementioned types of media. Considered revolutionary when it came out in 2002 (Just imagine! Your entire record collection residing in a small device in your shirt pocket!), the iPod is now on the verge of obsolescence--like consumer turntables and CD players. (The only iPod capable of connecting with the Cloud and of talking--untethered from any computer--with other iPods, is the iPod Touch 5 (but look for the 6th generation--the 5th has a notoriously brief battery life) which might described as an iPhone without the phone. Should you think one is worth the price, you'll still require a more recent handbook, one that gives complete information about the iPod and the Cloud.

This book, published in 2011, is obviously behind the curve and of limited practical value.
