While it's common knowledge, amongst libertarians, how the government steals from it's people and calls it "tax"; this charming read is a well researched compostion. I would say, "it's hard to put down!", but you'll just buy the book to put it down. That sentence is libertarianism in a nutshell. I encourage those who see taxation as "we all have to give back" to buy this book. It's certainly a "must have", regardless of where you side- politically 😊

The book contains many, many examples of how Americans are relentlessly taxed without their knowledge or permission, very often for the most ridiculous and dishonest of reasons. However, the author tries too hard to be "hip" and "woke," constantly inserting pop references and her own political bias. The information and anecdotes were certainly revealing, but reading the book was not nearly as entertaining as the author intended.

I lean far left on many issues but I enjoyed this book along with Government Gone Wild. It was written in an informal way which might not appeal to some but I enjoyed it. I think the overall point she emphasized, how easy the government can raise taxes without people realizing it, is a valid point.
