Trying to make healthy changes in sweeteners & in other food changes has got me some flack. I appreciate the support the book gives me to defend my efforts, but really there was so much I did not know.
I feel inspired to do better & now I know how.
This is an important book & discusses modern diet crazes, suggests a healthier food pyramid & natural sweetener replacements I had not known of.
Thanks Dr. C, & Monica Castaneda
The book is cleverly divided into nine segments, easily remembered as they each begin with 'R': Remove, Reduce, Replace, Replenish, Reschedule, Re-educate, Reprogram, Responsibility, and Recognize.
Each section discusses important points in making smart dietary choices such as understanding food, learning what smart choices you can replace guilty pleasures with, suggestions on what to eliminate from your diet, and even food guides for a variety of dietary lifestyles.
One of my favorite points about the book are "Dr. C's 2 Cents" which are additional bits of wisdom which tie in with the subject matter on that page. It's a great way to delve a little deeper.
It is wonderful that the Castanedas have put their knowledge together in a guide for all to resource.
been much of a "health food" kind of person. The information is perfect for people who want to start eating healthier and understand some of the reasons why you might hear
about the dangers of high-fructose corn syrup, or artificial sweeteners, or some of the other controversial items in food today. Now I know why there has been so much debate on
some of these items, how to eat healthier (without spending a fortune), and how to enjoy the food I choose to eat! Thank you for writing this book!
