This book was very helpful. I don't have a ton of clothes but I do want to minimize because I know I don't wear most of them, but needed help about how to begin because it is a little overwhelming just to look at your closet and jump right in when you're not sure where. I thought the information she presented was well laid out. She gave practical step by step advice that was clear, concise, and well thought out. It wasn't too long, which was great because when you want to get something like this accomplished you don't want to spend a lot of time reading about how to do it. I liked the links she had in the book (ex. finding what clothes work best with your body shape, etc.) I also appreciated the lists of what a casual minimalist wardrobe might look like. She also had a section devoted to a man's wardrobe, which I wasn't expecting, but it was nice. I think my husband would appreciate it as he has trouble getting rid of clothes as well!

I am a guy but I downloaded this since it was free. I like to read about minimalism and thought why not. This book is pretty simple and definitely not worth paying more than a buck for. I guess it a simple starting point for someone who is just starting to reduce the clutter, but the advice is along the lines of "have only 4 pair of underwear." I appreciate the authors work, but at this price (3) you would be better off paying another buck or two for a longer more comprehensive guide.

I was hoping for tips on how to tone down my wardrobe and make things work together, but I'm not really finding any new or novel ideas here.

This book was quite short and didn't really work for me.

I wanted to get some inspiration before I start clearing my wardrobe so I picked up this book while it was free. Most of the advice was common sense and felt much like the usual article from women magazines, just a little bit longer.
What I lacked in the book were pictures and guides how to combine to get the most out of the items you choose to keep. And the provided sample wardrobe (for a woman working in a business casual office environment) was not really inspiring - got me more into thinking how am I suppose to wash everything in time. I found that the given advice was quite extreme and I am not sure how women can incorporate that into their lifestyles today, unless they have very few social engagements. I expected it also to be more motivational. So I guess I will again clear my closet as I usually do.

Not bad. I could definitely implement some of her ideas! I like how it was all spelled out for me.

The principles of this book are sound. The color choices are drab. In theory I like the principles, in fact I like color and variety too much. But after reading this, I did go through my closets and eliminate a third of the stuff in them. I will pare back 3 or 4 times a year until I have more manageable closets. At least that's my plan.

This short book contains common-sense information on how to make the most of a small, versatile wardrobe. You don't have to be devoted to absolute minimalism to get some good ideas from this author. It's also worth a read for people who feel they have too much stuff but aren't sure how to reduce, those who need to create a new wardrobe after weight loss/gain, or for advice on how to pack efficiently for travel. It applies to men, women and kids, but spends the most time on a woman's sample wardrobe.
