From the Author
My oldest daughter convinced me, when she was four, that kids can ask serious theological questions! So, I started writing children's books to help teach her and our other children. And, you know what? It is a great thing that Jesus often gives the exact same answers--and comforts--to her and to the rest of us! Thanks be to God!
From the Inside Flap
God sends people to help in little ways and big ways. He calls all of us to love and to serve others, to help however we can no matter how old or young we are. Christians have multiple vocations: at work, in church, as citizens in society, or as family members.
A child's call to love and serve is the same as an adult's.
Work= developing their talents
Church= going to Sunday School and learning about God
Citizens= learning how to act and behave in public
Family=Learning to honor their parents
How Can I Help? teaches children that God
1. provides for their needs, sometimes through others he places in their life
2. works through them to help others
3. has a plan for their life no matter what vocation they choose
4. sent Jesus who was not just a helper, but their Savior

First off let me say these illustrations are fantastic and portray the story so well. My neice and nephew loved them. This story is geared to the young but has an underlying truth for us all. We are all God's children and as such we need to remind ourselves daily that we are His vessels that He works through for the good of all. We each have a purpose and can help in little and big ways. Nor are we ever to old to learn what God has planned for us.
Children will adore this book. It is written is a way the new reader can understand and those still learning will enjoy practicing on this easy to understand words. Be prepared to answer the questions that spring up when you finish as to how your young readers can follow God's plan for them. This is a wonderful gift for your young readers.
