This is a nice quick read, a review of many things that you probably already know about keeping a good balance and stimulating your brain. I didn't find any revolutionary new ideas in it but I liked it anyhow. I enjoyed many of the suggestions about using the mind maps. I suppose the author used a lot of references from different sources to build the advice in this book and I would have liked to see some sort of reference list to those sources. It sort of reminds me of Tony Buzan's book "Harnessing the Parabrain" which I read about 20 years ago.

Easy to read with lots of good tips to get you started. My mom suffered from dementia and I've been researching how to maintain brain function. Love the brain mapping ideA and the encouraging tone.

I found it a nice quick book with many tips to improve your brain. It's well written and easy to read, for 80 pages I find it really complete, of course, it's not really profound so it gives the general idea of many themes, but you'd have to research more to apply some of tips effectively.

What do I really like about this book?

It's got personality!

Emotionally written books with logic are useful when you're looking to improve your health. This guide is written with confidence and offers oodles of quality tips and tips to know how to improve your thinking. Doesn't matter how much info you've got, YOU have to decide to make it happen!

The author does a great just educating and empowering the audience to WANT to make positive changes. I'm impressed!

I highly recommend you open your mind by reading this book, then let the author know what you gained. Bravo!

This book was great! It is divided into two sections. The first discusses foods that help to improve functions of the brain. If you watch Dr. Oz, you will love this section because it gathers a lot of the foods discussed on the show and puts them together, talking about the health benefits of each food. For some foods, the author also tells you about the different types or forms you will see in the store (for example pills versus powders) and gives you advice on which one to buy. I can see this section being very useful when shopping at the grocery store for healthy foods.

The second section contains several activities to do to help increase memory. In this section, Packer explains why the activity will help and suggests ways to add the activity into your life.

Overall the book is easy to read and understand. The information can be accessed quickly in short phrases (to remind you of the activities or food), or can be read in detail, which makes this book a handy guide.

I got a free copy from Reading Deals Review Club to read and give my honest review. I saw this book and immediately wanted to read it desperately. I am so glad that I was given the opportunity to read it.

It is about a one hour read that flows from one chapter into the next. There are no diagrams of the brain; and you don't have to learn technical jargon. This book first tells you the best foods to eat for optimal health, and kale is not one of them. Tomatoes, blueberries, chia seeds and more.

Part Two is all about different (and fun) ways to exercise your brain, and most are free. He tells you that reading stimulates your mind. Physical exercise...just basic things you already do are great. He suggests the proper way to breathe to get oxygen to your brain. Meditation, writing in a journal, specializing, daydreaming, hypnosis tapes, and so much more activities (change it up so your brain gets something new to stimulate it) are good ways to keep your brain active and also makes you feel happier.

Why I really enjoyed this book is because his writing style flows seamlessly. He doesn't lecture on the different parts of the brain (left, right, frontal, etc). It is all about getting you to exercise your mind in many different ways....easy things to get your mind active and stronger. I really enjoyed this so much. It was a pleasure to read (and light reading).
