This is one of those novellas.
From the quirky and hilarious Hemi Butterbean (I mean, c'mon, is that not the best name ever for a heroine?) with her hellhound entourage, to the wickedly wonderful Raven Cherrywood and his unique predicament, there wasn't a moment in this story that I wanted to put the book down.
It's not a long read, but then, not every story has to be miles long to be satisfying, no?
The characters are well fleshed out, the plot is captivating, and the steamy bits are... *fans self*
If you're looking for a nibble of an introduction to Saranna DeWylde's incredible writing, this is a great place to start! All of her "How To..." series is going on my must read list!
Oh and really pretty good writing, not the usual hash of bad grammar, poor syntax and mediocre language in many of the novellas I have read.
The heroine is a "plump" witch librarian, the hero a sexy centerfold warlock cursed to be a cat, the sparks fly (quite literally), the humor ensues. Cute...made me smile.
The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was that I wished that it was longer.
