Editorial Reviews

This half-hour comedy focuses on the urban adventures of Ben (Bryan Greenberg) an aspiring designer who has seen previous passion projects derailed by fate and fortune, and Cam (Victor Rasuk), Ben’s best friend, free spirit and would-be mogul. This season, as they continue to hustle to get their CRISP line of T-shirts and hoodies off the ground following a (potentially) lucrative trip to Japan, Ben and Cam scour the downtown NYC scene for new business connections, following any lead they can get to get noticed in the ultra-competitive fashion industry. Among those who rub shoulders with Ben and Cam in and around the city are Ben’s ex-girlfriend Rachel (Lake Bell), an interior decorator now searching for meaning after a globe-spanning trip to Africa and Europe; Domingo (Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi), a well-connected street pal with his own “entrepreneurial” business; David “Kapo” Kaplan (Eddie Kaye Thomas), a hedge-fund manager and high-school acquaintance; and Cam’s cousin Rene (Luis Guzmán), an ex-con who is eying his own get-rich scheme by marketing his Rasta Monsta energy drink.

I found this highly entertaining and addictive. I can't believe there are no more episodes. I was actually going to pay money to see the rest, only to discover this series is over and done with and there is nothing to buy. Very charming cast, excellent writing. The behind the scenes look at fashion merchandising is something not often done on TV.

why was this show canceled? honestly!? it was a very good show that vaguely resembled entourage!!!! it was an awesome and short lived! the show should have at least been given a third season to give us some closure rather than just abruptly ended with a season arc!

The first thing about this show - which HBO has done before really well - is showcase the electricity of New York City. It is a fun show in which you can vicariously experience the rush of trying to make it in the big NYC. The acting is on point, the story is engaging and you also are able to enjoy Kid Cudi on HBO. I truly hope for more of this show in the future as there truly is nothing else like it on TV.

As a business owner this show gets me so hyped. I love what each of these characters bring to the table. It's SO fun to watch and I'm SO SO bummed there isn't a season three. How can we get this back up on air?! I want to take over the world after watching this! "We're goinnn innn!!!"

I loved this so much. I'm a graphic designer. Black and Latino decent. I dream of going to New York every night and making it in fashion, this show was right up my alley. It was like a male sex and the city. I wish there were more seasons so badly.

Interesting show, I will keep watching until the series is over, and if there is a season 3 most likely watch that as well. I do not think i will miss it once its done. Great shows make you look forward to them and miss once they are done.
How to Make it in America is close but not quite at that level

Too bad this show was canceled. The main storyline of trying to "make it" and the little ups and downs that come with that are all too real. Funny, relatable with a tinge of the poignancy. The writing is good with overlapping story lines and character interactions that don't feel forced.

This is an character driven show. Very well based in how things run when trying to "get ahead" especially now a days in regards to getting swallowed up by established business/people .Rasta Monster is a great side story line and entertaining! Love it. Gave 4 stars because of the unneeded harsh language at times. Didn't think it was a show I would continue watching, but finished Season 2 and actually look forward to more if they add a Season 3.
