I remember attending art classes in grade school. I was mesmerized by the water colors that we used, not acrylics. This book transported me wayyy.... back. Drawing and Sketching has called me back to my childhood as well. Let me make it very clear: I am an absolute beginner. Watching YouTube vids that Kristy creates. Watching her channel has ignited in me a new found joy in creating. Thanks, Ms Rice for all that you bring to your profession and most of all for helping us all chase down our joy.

I remember attending art classes in grade school. I was mesmerized by the water colors that we used, not acrylics. This book transported me wayyy.... back. Drawing and Sketching has called me back to my childhood as well. Let me make it very clear: I am an absolute beginner. Watching YouTube vids that Kristy creates. I was between this book and another one and I still want the other one from Kristy that I was looking at but I am still very happy I bought this one, I tried to take some pictures in case someone was trying to decide.
I am very much a beginner, I just bought a watercolor palette about a month ago so I am so happy to read and see all these lessons and drills on how to improve.
The only thing this doesn’t have that I wish it did somehow would be to have test/practice pages built in and it does not.
But the thing I really love is it is only utilizing one brush and that is the 1/4 inch dagger brush and minimal other things you need to get started which is very nice.
I included one of my pages of a practice drill sheet using some of the techniques in the early sections.
