I would recommend this book to any parent who wants to support their child in learning the social skills they need to feel more confident and gain self-esteem.
As a parent of two children and a long time elementary educator, I have encountered many friendship issues over the years. I wish I had had Donna and Nadine's book years ago! It offers so many wonderful, concrete, doable strategies and tips to improve a wide range of social skills. Their book is a hands-on reference guide and is very parent friendly.
One of the things I love about Donna and Nadine's book is the easy format. It allows you to zero in on your child's friendship barrier and gives you concrete ways to start creating change. Their powerful and empowering approach encourages kids to be part of the solution. With the parent role of 'social coach' the book gives you the social language to support these changes in a positive way.
We all know that friendship barriers cannot be fixed overnight, but personally, I love knowing that I have a tangible place to start. This book is one of the best hands-on reference guides I've seen on friendships.
