Jean Chatzky is CEO and co-founder of HerMoney, the author of over a dozen books (including Money Rules, Women with Money, and Not Your Parents' Money Book), an award-winning magazine columnist and host of the HerMoney podcast. I am not the target demographic for this book (which seems to be teenage girls), so take my review as a grain of salt...

While I found the book to be a very quick read, I also found it to be very general and not particularly groundbreaking. The information in this book is the same thing you can find on any finance blog with the exception of their personal interviews at the end of each chapter.

I found the definitions of finance terms like credit, debit, APR & deductible in the middle of the page to be distracting, but maybe a teen would be interested in that format.

Overall it wasn't bad, but I wouldn't read it again or recommend it to friends or family.

This is everything about money that they should have taught you when you were young but did not. One of the best things about the book is that the pages are colour-coded so you never lose your place. The chapters are all really short and have tons of lists, charts, graphics, and bullet points — so it's really easy to read. Give this book to a teenager.
