Author Allyson R. Abbott's book, How toNavigate the Path from Writing to Publishing, has a kindly voice that beckonsmuch like a bygone relative that you will never get the chance to meet again;it has a sound that speaks of knowledge. The content within its pages isextensive and thorough, ranging from the steps it takes to publishing on specificformats, such as CreateSpace, Smashwords, and Amazon's Kindle DirectPublishing, to name just a few, to platforms that writers may find to beintegral when designing a cover. The content I've mentioned is just the tip ofthe iceberg.
How to Navigate the Path from Writing toPublishing by Allyson R. Abbott is another book that I felt grateful to get myhands on. There is so much information out there on the internet that it can bea bit paralyzing when you're a new writer, or even an old pro, working outwhich information is helpful and which information perhaps isn't as helpful.Everything you find in this book will be like finding a hidden gem, if you arenot already familiar with some of the links she references or the processesthat she goes into depth explaining. For new writers or seasoned professionalswho are wanting to step into the pond of digitizing their books, it's oftendifficult to decipher where you should go and what steps you should take topublish, if self-publishing is the direction that you are headed in. I knowthat I would have benefited greatly if I had read this book before I decided tocrash course my way through the world of self-publishing. If you're a writer orwanting to write that next great American novel, grab this book. You're goingto need it, and I promise you're going to love it.
